First, let me say that I never had a chance to play the campaign since I didn't have an Xbox. Then, I got the 360, and wanting to understand the story in Halo 3, I went out and bought Halo 2. It was byfar one of the best moments I have had in videogaming. So much action and enemies on screen, it is still fun 3 years from when it was made. The only thing that I didn't like too much was the Arbitar levels
stupid flood
.

I hated the Flood too at first, but now i love fighting those little bastards.
I enjoy those guys the most when they're whomping on Covenant as well. The three-way battles are some and away my favorites in the series.

I played Halo 2 recently in readiness for the 3.

It were good, there were some great set piece battles in it. The ending didn't bother me too much in all honesty, although I knew I only had 5 months to continue the story. Back in 11/04 people must have been throwing things at the TV.

Still, everything that we've heard so far seems ot suggest Bungie will make good on the shortcomings in Halo 3, so I place my trust in them to deliver.

I only recently beat Halo 2 as well. I thought the ending was abrupt, and I didn't care for the framerate or general feel of the action. I felt it was too sluggish like you were pushing through water or something. Overall it was a good game with a good atmosphere though it got monotonous after a while.

Agreed. I hope plenty of those battles will appear in H3, because it's just so chaotic and crazy i can't help but love them.

It started out good but I had to force myself to play the later levels. I think the big thing for me was the fact that problems among factions of covenant did not make a great motivator for a FPS. You could say that Bungie pulled a Lucas on H2. I'm sure it was an interesting story by itself. It just didnÂ’t compel me to keep playing the game.

Any videos out there of all the cut scenes put together? IÂ’d like review the actual story without having to play through it again.

If you like Halo 2's single-player, you need to play Halo 1. You will love it!

i dunno, i liked H2's campaign more than H1s, but i think i'm in the minority. i came to the party just last year though, but still found it much more enjoyable than i expected. i'll actually get h3 on day one this time.

The three-way battles were the only times I actually enjoyed the Flood. Especially when the headcrabs breathed life into corpses.

Did you play through Halo 1 at some point? (I assume you did but I thought I'd ask)

Yeah, bought and and beat the campaign. Didn't have that many weapons, but it was still an enjoyable experience. And yes, I played it on the 360.

I don't like the Flood on Halo 2 that much... Try them on Halo: Combat Evolved

Two Betrayals = awshum stuff

I don't know, I just hope Halo 3 is more like Halo 2 than one.
In terms of gameplay, it is. Simply newly added equipment, new/modified weapons, vehicles, and better balance between weapons.
