LTTP - Killzone: Shadow Fall

So the OP nails it. I enjoyed the game even though it's flawed. Your critiques all make sense and I agreed for the most part. Its a refreshing departure from the "this is the worst thing I have ever played" hyperbole.

The gameplay is great. Being a launch game I can only assume they had to cut corners with game design choices and story. The story is pretty nonsensical and bland but still left off in a place where a sequal can be very good
Shadow Marshal Echo anyone
.
That's why I would love a sequal.

Well, i too got it back, for very cheap, and decide to get pass the second chapter, where i always stop. Im now into the 6th chapter, and honestly, its not a bad game at all, but its not excellent either. Today, i will probably finish it, will try to give my overall impression after.

While I liked the idea of the open levels, I just kept getting lost. I never finished the single player and while multiplayer was fun, the lack of a progression system made me never touch it again after a week or two.

Good ideas, poor execution.

Best wishes.

It was the first game I played where the variable framerate were really jarring. I want to hope it was just rushed because the movement and gun handling weren't anywhere near as tight as KZ2 and 3. A lot of the weapon sounds just don't have the same polish as their previous games. And I think the multiplayer balance could have used a lot more playtesting.

Luckily we got Mercenary the same year which was a good return to form for the series.

Yeah I borrowed this from a friend after getting a PS4 last month and I hate it. It's one of the worst fps games I've played. It made me realise that their new RPG is very much a wait and see, I dunno if it deserves the hype it's getting because I don't think Gorilla have made a single good campaign yet, their best is average (KZ2) and they've shown me nothing to suggest that will change. We'll see. Supermassive were similar and made Until Dawn which was great, so it's possible for a studio to finally pump out something good.

They hired the lead writer on Fallout: New Vegas and a quest designer from CD Projekt Red for Horizon. Game is in good hands.

Is the MP still active OP?

Played it a couple days ago, was able to get into a full game immediately.

Well, i tried to beat it today, when to chapter 7, but honestly, i think for me its enough. Sure using your robot to shoot, hack is cool, but this FPS is just too stealthy . Sometime, you just die not knowing where to go, not seeing clearly. Action in 90% of the time non-existent. Not did i enjoy it more, but Battlefield 4 SP campain is more fun. I didnt beat any of the Killzone games, tried 2-3 on ps3 , and they were imo not comparable to other good FPS. I dunno, visually its damn impressive, but there is something boring around it. Perhaps i just dont like the story?Perhaps im getting bored of FPS games? but i didnt get the excitement i got for games like Borderlands 2, Half Life series, Crysis 1. Maybe the single player FPS genre need to deliver if it want to be remembered. Doom is the next one i got hope for. Sure there is some cool online games that exist, but for single player campain, havent found anything since Borderlands.

So no, wont get to the end of it, i just want to put my time on something else. For me, this game got good thing in it, but, im not excited playing it.

Its for me a 6 out of 10, and thank god i only paid 10$ for it.
