Luigi's Mansion hits Switch 2 NSO on October 30th

This game is magical. Loved it when I played in on GameCube launch and still love it.

Why does every thread turn into bitching about something on GAF? Go play games damn.

It looks literally the same to me, but I'm sure some Dolphin pundit can point at the subpixel differences that make the PC emulation shit all over Nintendo's own for me.
Only thing I've noticed is some rendering errors on Marios painting (it's pixelated but don't know if this is due to LCD and higher res or an error) and transparency on Boolicious.

Its still a paygate,

if they can get galaxy running on an Nvidia shield they can get Luigis mansion working on a switch

Its just current day mega greedy Nintendo.
I mean you are half right, they are greedy, but in this instance the Switch 1 simply doesn't have the grunt to emulate GC, especially at 1080p like the Switch 2 does.

Install Linux on your Switch 1 and give emulating GC it a try. You'll see what I mean.

Mario Galaxy running on Shield was hybrid reverse engineering & emulation, it's not the same thing and doesn't count. Actual development time took place there.

Have you tried not being poor?
publishing evil dead GIF

I do my best, ok.
Sad Arrested Development GIF

Turns out lying around and doing nothing doesn't pay. I'm hoping my OnlyFans/Twitch career will finally take off.

I don't need full 1080p Upscaling, I'm perfectly fine with playing the games as they were intended, give me all that 480i goodness.

The GC games are still 100% paygated behind a subscription I already pay for, except you need an already overpriced console to do so.

I know people will die by the sword for Ninty and that's OK, i'm still not happy with the way they've handled switch 2, everything feels nickle and diming.

Hey, I'm in the same boat - I think Nintendo deserve all the shit they get for their current day business practices.

I'm just trying to explain that even at native resolution, the switch one would struggle with the majority of the gamecube library without Nintendo going to the hassle of developing hybrids like they did with Mario Galaxy & Sunshine.

If they went to that effort you best believe they'd be charging something ridiculous per game.

I want to boot this up tonight. My GameCube app updated, so I'm assuming it's ready to go.

I plugged in my official NSO GameCube controller so it can charge while I'm out running errands today. Halloween is awesome.

Was playing last night, still a fun game and perfect for a service like this with its shorter length. I like pointing out to my kids the stuff that was considered mind blowing graphics in 2001 (look at the fabric actually move! and the shadows!)

Awesome. I have the game, but no Gamecube since the laser burned out. I have an original Wii, but my TV's don't have a composite connection. They get you coming and going.

there are HDMI cables for the Wii. pretty cheap too afair. I saw them in stores back in the day, since the Wii almost needed it tbh, given that during its lifetime, TVs slowly went from SD, to HD with composite, to HD with HDMI only kber the course of the years.

Went to check it out when i had some free time last night to check it out real quick. 3 hours later I've been exploring that mansion as if it was the first time I ever played the game. This game is still great. Although I noticed one thing about playing the game. Can somebody confirm this. Anytime i press x to go into the gameboy horror camera radar the camera always points down. I feel its suppose to be pointed straight from luigis POV. Does anyone know if the original camera perspective defaults to him looking down or straight forward?

Side note. GameCube adapter with the wave bird is awesome. Really cool that I can still use that adapter years later.

What a weird but cool and interesting launch game this was. I was able to play the Japanese version before the western release and after that I needed a GameCube more than anything! The graphics and lighting was just so clean (at the time obviously."

I rolled credits on it last night, first time I actually finished it -- as a kid relying on my parents money, I had to make some decisions at GameCube launch and it didn't make the cut with its short length. Fun little game, has all the same issues that I still have with the later ones I've played (frustrating controls, some obtuse puzzles) so I was kind of rushing towards the end and didn't get an awesome ranking, but definitely worth the playthrough. Don't think I'll play it again but it's nice to finally check off my list.
