Madworld 2 not out of the Question

YES!

Madworld is easily one of my favorite games this generation, I always thought it has great potential and a sequel to expand upon the first would be glorious!

Hopefully we see this game soon :D

Good news, but it makes me wonder who would pick it up. Would Sega come back for more? And how would they address the sales?

I think the biggest problem the first game had was that it was black-and-white. I know its the main appeal of the game, but many people seemed to be put off by the art-style. Maybe adding in color would help it sell more?

Didn't the first Madworld bomb? I'm surprised that they would even want to make a sequel after the poor sales of the first.

shitty journalist: hey dude do you want to continue being employed?
dude: yes i would like to continue being employed. i would theoretically work on a new project if i could get paid to do so.

why on earth do so many gaming journalists ask a version of this question. 100% of all directors are willing to make sequels to 100% of all their games, provided demand and publisher support is there.

I was really into the game until I realized that it was the same thing over and over for a short amount of gameplay. Not to mention my wrists started to hurt from the motion controls. But I am all for a sequel as long as they improve upon the first, which is what I expect from any game really.

If, by the slim chance there were a sequel, it'd probably not be on the Wii.

It might even pull a No More Heroes and the team that ported Bayonetta to PS3 might do the same for MadWorld.:lol

With that said, I hope they polish the shit off of what was there, as it's a fun and original game, albeit repetitive.

I really wanted to love this game as the art style was awesome, but it was one of the worst games I've ever played.

They have to write something.

I would buy MadWorld 2 on day one. Just like I bought MadWorld 1 on day one.

Make it happen, Platinum and Sega!

I almost want this to happen... just to see what would occur.
Outcry on both fronts, game would still sell shitty and people that once were crying for it to be released on their favourite platform would bitch about the game's quality.

Pull a NMH as in the sequel will be on Wii and there will be another title (extended version of the first? didn't keep track) on PS360? Would be quite the contradiction to your first theory.

Holy shit, I didn't even realize that MadWorld was by Platinum Games. Will definitely buy now.

Just don't expect any of that Bayonetta Magic to have poured over!

Yeah, It was poorly worded, but I meant assuming there was a sequel, the original would likely be ported to the PS360 for the sake of expanding interest.

i dont know if I'd consider 150kish a 'bomb', though I wonder how it did in Europe? Isnt Spike publishing it in Japan, do those sales count too :lol

Can never tell with people anymore

Would buy, if it happened.

Few things I'd recommend, though?

a) Deeper fighting engine, deeper game play over all - The game really seemed bare bones for what was supposed to be a brawler, so I can agree with this overall sentiment. Less QTEs too, while we're at it.

b) Classic Controller (Pro) Support - I'm sorry, but I hated the notion that I felt like I was fighting with the Wii mote and nunchaku to get things to work. This was especially the case when it came to them Grim Reaper dudes and such. CC Pro for those of us who desire tighter, more reliable controls, plz. :D

No? How so? I'd happily pay for a solid MadWorld sequel on the Wii, but if a MadWorld sequel comes along (which I dont think will happen, mind you), I could see them sticking to the low-key brawler style formula, cut dev costs, and put it on LIVE and PSN.
I'm not sure if I get what you're saying here.

You want them to make the same game (a low key brawler), cut dev cots and increase the resolution? All the while selling it for less money?

If so... do you want Platinum Games to go completely out of business?!

wii 2 launch title please.

i thought madworld was good for what it was. to me it's kind of like ssx blur, good but not fully developed into what it could have been.

Hell yeah, please don't be the second coming of TWEWY and become an announced game Madworld 2.

one of the reason why I love the Wii.

I loved God Hand but had a difficult time with MadWorld, I am against gesture controls and it made me have a hard time with the Wii.

please normalize MadWorld into the PS3/360 wrelm and God Hand it for me!

If Matsuno is on board for the story again I would hope he tries to not leave me scratching my head at the end again.

A few more tweaks with the control and a number of new ways to rack up points, and more side game choice would make for a more solid sequel I believe. I would also hope the commentators stay and they collaborate with the same underground hip hop artists again.

Up port to ps3/360, then let them do a sequel for all three. Regardless, I'd probably never touch a sequel as the stupidity ranks up there with Bayonette and HotD Overkill, really disappointed me in the end.

Forget PS3 and Xbox 360, Madworld just wouldn't be the same without motion controls. I'd love to see a sequel, the first was a very good effort and a sequel could take Madworld from a good game to a great game.

if they studied the market properly, this game would never have been released for Wii. Luckily, they didn't and, as a result, I got to play a game with awesome Wii functionality.
I dunno, man. I just played through MadWorld the past couple days, and not many of the motion controls really struck me as something you couldn't translate to just using the two sticks or the triggers on either of the HD systems' controllers to emulate a la Indigo Prophecy. Which is not to say "MAN THIS GAME SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ON THE WII WHY WAS IT ON THE WII FUCK THE WII" (because that's just stupid) so much as it's to say the motion control stuff was funny and charming, but was more there to provide an added "oomph" instead of a legitimate gameplay benefit and given the choice, I'd much rather have had a second stick mapped to a God Hand style dodging system.

But like others have said, the first one was a good starting point with a lot of clever ideas; a sequel could really flesh it out and fix all the repetitiveness. I hope this happens.

Ah I see, well considering it is Sega we're speaking of they'd probably make it a PSP exclusive for a smart business move.

I hope it failed horribly in Europe, at this day and age shit like the PAL version of MW can't be tolerated any more. I am inclined to believe it bombed though, currently on sale for 5 pounds at Zavvi, although I'd advise against buying the PAL version, even at that price.

Abort that shit right out of your head, P-Games. >_>
Who are you going to listen to, Platinum? All the smart people in this thread asking for a sequel, or a guy who thinks Blaze the Cat is a great character?

Make your choice.

Ice cold burn, baby.

Let's see:
Longer game, more ways to kill people, party multiplayer of death, Matsuno back on storytelling, Wii motion plus.

Better game achieved!

Oh, it's done up to 150k in the US? Not bad.
