When Folken was first released to the public the response was amazing. A few years ago it seemed as if the tried and true formula of a balanced forum poster had finally been found. Unfortunately advances in posting as well as an influx of new posters has revealed some chinks in the Folken armor. Furthermore, the poster's apparent race to fit in has left us with a product that's worse off than it was first released.
Folken 1.0-.9 was generally fair and quite honest about its opinions. Did an excellent job filtering out nonsense from what mattered and posting replies that kept to the heart of the matter, an expert utility.
Competition however has pushed Folken 2.0-.4 into a unique position where traits from some of these new posters have been picked up For example; being loud, liking games that are bad, and speaking against MrAngryFace. All of these things while decidedly popular are honestly not HEALTHY for any poster and it urgently requires some form of remedy.
I suppose this is a changing of the guard of sorts. If Folken version 2.5 proves to continue this disturbing trend you could see me switching over to Matlock 1.7 in the very near future.
