Every scene with that teenage girl is cliched as hell. I hope they drop her side-story altogether, and preferably character.

I didn't mind it before for a little bit but now it's just getting annoying. To the point where I'm only enjoying 'half' of the Nikita show.

Wasn't the original plot supposed to be them training a new "Nikita" to hunt down the old one?

Anyways, about this weeks episode...

Montreal cops with no accent? lawl
"Hunting down the politest terrorists in the world"

And Stan Lee cameo? wtf was that? Was he just randomly in Toronto and needed money for TTC tokens or something?

I'm in love with this show. I'd rage if CW cancel it. But it seems ratings are decent enough that it'd probably get one season at least.

I like the new character, Owen. I hope they make him a regular. He and Nikita have a lot of chemistry.

damn the killing of emely (spelling? -.-) came from nowhere, looking at the promo last week I tought nikita would just help them escape together, but then bam, sniper bullet to the chest

I actually wonder if that's a nod and a wink to how
Tara died
on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", especially since Bianca Lawson played Kendra on that show.

HAHAHAHA, I just imdb'd the dude. Yes that is human Casper.

Looks like he's going to be a main cast member for a little while judging by that ending.

That's what I got from it. Especially due to the fact that whedon vet David Solomon directed the episode.

The CW is giving Nikita a chill pill.

Five episodes into its rookie season, the Maggie Q-fronted action drama is undergoing some routine maintenance. Specifically, The CW is looking to lighten the show’s somber mood and jack up its title character’s love life.

The goal? To boost viewership in the network’s sweet spot: young females. While Nikita is off to a solid start among total viewers, it’s losing a huge chunk of the core women 18-34 demo from its Vampire Diaries lead-in. Season-to-date, Nikita is maintaining 94 percent of Diaries‘ overall audience but is squandering an alarming 54 percent of the 18-34 crowd. This could be one reason why the net has yet to give the show a back-nine order. (Ironically, where Nikita is performing particularly well is among horny straight males over 40.)

“We’re really only talking about some slight tweaks,” maintains a source. “The core of Nikita will not change.”

Among said tweaks is the introduction of several new characters, including a confidant and potential love interest for Nikita who’s described as a clean-cut, all-American CIA case officer. “Moms want to marry off their daughters to this kid,” reads the casting notice. “But he’s too busy saving the world.”

Reps for The CW and Warner Bros. Television declined to comment for this story.

Thoughts? Do you agree that Nikita, while a solid show, could stand to cheer up? Sound off below!

Sup ?

Fuck that... The reason i'm enjoying it so much right now is that it doesn't feel like a CW show. Ugh.

I thought the latest episode was the best one yet.

I was wondering why Living TV picked this up in the UK... a channel which airs the likes of Ghost Whisperer, America's Next Top Model, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. I guess now I know.

...sigh :/

SMH @ the random love interest, and lighter mood nonsense. The show was fine, and very different from most of the CW's lineup, and here come the execs trying to market it to a young female crowd...WHAT?

The vampire diaries lead-in is the problem. The females who are trying together their Edwards/Jacob fix wherever they can aren't going to be interested in a show dominated by strong women that are the exact opposite of Bella. Meh.

This is bullshit, do they not want to diversify their shows somewhat? (except for Fridays). I thought the whole mood of the show fit right in and the hints of relationship between Alex and the other dude was becoming forced.

Fuck.

The show's tone is working perfectly. Obviously it doesn't fit with the rest of the CW's lineup, but what did they think when they green lit the project? They wanted a femme fatale action show. It's doing better in the 18-49 general audience than 90210, Gossip Girl, Life Unexpected, Smallville and Supernatural. Yeah it's not the target for the CW, but it's still extremely important to advertisers. Not to mention that it's in THE most competitive time slot of the week.

If this gets canceled because it's not doing well in the 18-34 (1.3, same as Life Unexpected), I'm going to be so pissed.

EDIT: Life Unexpected has more scripts ordered and not Nikita. a;klsdjfa;dklsfja;dsfkljaf;alkjsdf;adsfjka;sdfjk FUCK YOU DAWN OSTROFF (not like I dislike LUX).

Yeah, i don't understand why they wouldn't want to diversify a little. I realise most of their advertisers are aiming for the that female age bracket, but having such a narrow audience focus could only be harmful to the network in the long run.

In the end, i don't really expect the show to change that much. Hearing about network meddling like this seriously pisses me off, though.

Not being able to expand out of a small niche of young female viewers is (one of the many things that) killed the WB.

God I hate Ostroff. How is she still employed? >:(

Fun fact: she's been the president of entertainment at UPN/CW since 2002, longer than any other current network president (Nina Tassler of CBS 2004, Kevin Reilly of Fox 2007, Angela Bromstad of NBC 2008, Paul Lee of ABC 2010).

I know, it absolutely boggles me.

Whatevs, if anything, the first 13 should remain untainted. :lol

I don't think Nikita kill Alex' parents - don't know why its spoilered because well, its not a spoiler. The last episode where she talks about rescuing her, I mean, why bother rescusing a teenager (for the most parts). She was/is a very good killer and only turned when daniel was murdered.

Enjoying this show tremendously. I think the new guy developed quite interesting and I like the

new cleaner and how he developed outta the plot. The plot twist at the end was kind of neat.
old cleaner turned sideways

I also just realised that the how I met your mother daughter who sat on the couch = ALEX. which blew my mind. Hopefully, show gets season 2. It should right?

No one caught the episode this past Thursday?

I thought it was really good. Despite only introducing that new Recruit-turned-Guard this episode, that sequence where he snaps and goes on a violent rampage at the end was done really well, I thought. And I was pretty surprised that they're gonna use him as a Cleaner instead of executing him.

Yeah it wasn't bad. The preview for next episode looked lame though, it's definitely veering towards CW bullshit at that point onwards I'm guessing.

I think the whole "lets get guards from normal recruits" concept is kinda stupid

they are constaly told how after they graduate they will be set free, get to be cool agents and then you throw them back into the shithole they endured for god knows how long to just stand around and watch how their former friends move past them

someone snaping and going on a killing spree is preaty much given in a situation like this :D

Imagine if Amanda planned it though. I wouldn't put it past her.

idk

to assume that she knew how his mental state would unfold and put him in the guard in order to compleatly break him for cleaner duty sounds kinda far fetched

But they are Division! They know everything...except where Nikita's apartment is in Toronto.
