I'm still waiting for xbone vs PS4.
I doubt it will happen. If the original backlash towards MS didn't occur then you'd definitely see it but not now. They are trying to save face as much as they can.

They didn't listen to the consumer, they listened to the sound of lost preorders.
I don't think you thought your statement all the way through.
He's clever. He basically merges hate and valid criticism to one big thing, tells people it needs to stop and everyone agrees. PR at it's best. And you all fall for it.
The thing is, the XB1 is still a subpar product, plagued by wrong decisions. This has nothing to with hate.

Was he wrong? what did I miss?
That's what I was thinking. I don't hate xbo, it just does nothing for me on the games front. To me, there was no choice.I hope the man is able to differentiate between hate and valid criticism.
The problem with MN is that I can't picture him as a gamer. I just can't relate to the guy.
All I see is a corporate sock-puppet.

"Sony will sell a ton," Hryb added down the page. "We will sell a ton. The industry is doing well...and consumers have choice."
In a nutshell. Yay for gaming all around. Well, except for Nintendo right now, but that is another story. And a sad one at that.
Take a moment and think about what lost preorders means and where that comes from and the answer should become pretty obvious.
I guess hes not wrong but its kinda like chris brown saying people need to stop hating. Shouldna did that stupid shit, dumbass.
Well Nintendo seems to at least recognize they aren't doing so hot. We may still see a slight turn around with them.

Why have we not seen a blog post from you like the one from the beginning of the current generation, where you compared the specs of the PS3 and 360?Major Nelson said:I was thinking the same thing - I need to work on something like that. Thanks for the reminder.

Prove itLove this, thread starts with pretty much yeah he's right to they deserve the hate.
Seriously, the point is that both consoles selling well is best for the industry.
If you want to see anti-consumer, imagine a world with just one console... Sony wanted to do what MS was planning to do before the 180 as well.

What's the difference?
That is the power we have as a consumer, do not buy the product
When Microsoft had a sizable lead over the PS3, they couldn't stop crowing about it. I listened to them do that every month on Major Nelson's podcast when they read out the NPDs.
Now they are facing a generation where the US looks pretty even, and they are going to fall well behind in the rest of the world. So now the PR message is both consoles will sell a "ton" (i.e. a false equivalency) and for people to stop hating. How convenient.
They reversed their ridiculous policies. Console's all good to me now.MS is not patting Sonys back because they like them. They don't even applaud them. They are just trying to get within Sony's positive momentum by telling people "hey we are all the same". It's very subliminal. It's a communication tactic. It's not real.
Both are doing well and helping the industry. Can't find much fault in that.
Begging for a tag quote.Love this, thread starts with pretty much yeah he's right to they deserve the hate.

No, it's not. I don't understand where this is coming from.
Competitive platforms are good for the consumer. Sales parity is completely irrelevant to the consumer. In fact, if one platform lags behind the other, it is because the consumer has decided that one platform is not actually good for them. That is how it works. The dog wags the tail.
This "competition is good" thing has grown completely into a monster. Competition is the means by which a lessor is weeded out. If a platform is weaker, it should lose. That is competition. This whole "parity is good for the consumer"/"two platforms selling well is good for the consumer" sentiment is bizarre.
What you are espousing is not capitalism or competition but instead crony capitalism in which market competitors are propped up for the sake of having market competitors.

Sony too strikes again

Oh, damn...that's not going to end well.
