This isn't political at all. It doesn't have anything to do with capitalism or socialism. It's just a stupid person and they are part of every single society and do shit like this on any economic model.

There are many idiots who spend their life in debt or commit crimes to have access to the same shit. This guy just happened to have a willing middle man for a kidney as opposed as a bank offering a predatory loan. In some countries credit card debt can land you in jail or can have your livehood taken by the creditor. It could be seen as killing yourself but with extra steps.

It doesn't even have anything to do with the gadget itself. People is capable of worse shit for a designer bag or a car. Let's not even mention people doing all kinds of stupid shit for a little bit of fame.

A shame, no doubt but hardly deserving of any other kind of sympathy other than the one you would offer to anyone commiting a really stupid mistake.
