Definitely give it a go. The first 3 volumes are easily the weakest of the series, but once the Golden Age arc starts it gets so damn good.

Yeah Berserk's art certainly hitted god tier after a while , the problem though is that this guy is cut from the same shit as Togashi.

This. The first 3 volumes are garbage, but the following ark is fantastic. I held of reading Berserk for a long time because of the bad beginning, but it really is a great manga.

First Arc isn't terrible, the problem was there being nothing behind it yet. 2nd, it also follows the Golden Age Arc, which in comparison. Nearly everything will be shit up against.

All I've cared to know is this: The Thunder King is mad at Ikki, Onigiri has a good sense of smell, Sora is using an evil device to make Rika do...something, someone broke Ikki's legendary rollerblades, a gay guy and a crossdresser are fighting Agito's brother, and Barrack Obama is still a highschool girl.
