Yankee-kun & Megane-chan

I can't believe I forgot I was following this one! I stopped sometime around the first meeting with the third year student council members because there were no scans available, but man did I apparently miss out on a ton. :lol

The one thing I want to bring up now though, why oh why did Yoshikawa nerf Rinka so much? Now she's like this poor demure thing that you'd pet before becoming genuinely afraid of. :lol

(well I'm out, hopefully just till Friday.. if I don't come back I'm dead. Don't miss me too much)
If it's any consolation, my old ex-IDF roommate really benefited from the physical training and the discipline he picked up over there. Good luck, and try to focus on the here and now. A strong mindset can be a lifesaver.

Rock Lee's spin-off thing

So awesome.

Neiji Byakugan'ing Kakashi's book :lol

Makes me a little sad that the mainline Naruto series is mostly devoid of humour. :<

Edit: Genshinken!! :O

Psyren

Ending was rushed and really happy but i still dug it.

The author went all out as much as he could with certain events.

Franken Fran

:lol :lol

this story was hilarious and Veronica really getting in to it was awesome also.

Genshiken

Busted :lol :lol

This Hato and Yamajima dynamic is hilarious due the gender thing and damn Hato makes it convincing.

Yoshitake is just crazy and i assume she used that "loli age excuse" to buy those drinks

So I caught up with GTO: Shonan 14 days and now waiting for next release, and with GTO being one of my favorite manga of all time is there anything similar you'd recommend?
Did read GTO's prequel(Bad company is it).

Against better judgment, I bought the first volume of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.
The funny thing is, the publisher was unable to put a table of notes in it, because Naoko Takeuchi forbid them to put them inside the volume, so they had to resort to post them online...
Now I hope I'll like this, since I hated the anime. At least the edition is pretty good.

Totally forgot it existed. What is going on with it exactly?

The series has been on hiatus for a couple of months now. Apparently the author said on twitter he is hiring new assistants so the series can come back next year.

Anyone pick up the first volume of the US release of the K-On manga? I wasn't pleased with it personally. It has color pages, but they aren't glossy which feels a bit cheap. And they changed "light music club" to "pop music club". Pretty sure I won't be picking up the rest of the series now.

Fairy Tail

I agree that Mest will end up joining FT, he's a coward that will learn bravery and comraderie from the guild members during this squirmish. Didn't expect Makarov to attack all those kin right off the bat. Between that battle and Natsu catching up to the other existing battle, should get interesting the next few chapters. I think I'm going to enjoy this arc, strong opponents.

Psyren

Guess they finally ended it. I have to say I was rather disappointed with how this series ended. The whole final stretch was garbage imo. All that build up for the nova power up and the final battles were so anticlimatic. Still worth reading the series as it started out pretty interesting and the first time seeing the kids grown up and how strong they are in the future timeline was one of the more entertaining moments in manga for me. That was really cool and made the series worth reading for me.

Does anyone know what this Dragon Ball SD is? Looks more or less the same as DB, but it's all in color. Is that all it is?

Limit

This was really good. It's a shoujo survival manga about a bunch of girls who's bus gets into an accident and the end up getting stranded. The cast is pretty interesting and the story seems like it's moving along pretty quickly. I will definitely continue reading.

Is that actually Shoujo? Doesn't look it. Might check it out.

There's quite a lot of shoujo horror out there. And yes, this series is published in a shoujo magazine.

Well I mean more from the art and designs than the actual content, but that's probably just as ignorant :lol . Maybe I should check out some shoujo horror.

This, rings true for me too, the series was sadly never able to recreate that level of badass :( Then again there are relatively few series that had such an incredibly high note that i was stunned after reading it.

Hajime no Ippo 918

I hope this upcoming fight doesn't drag for 18 weeks like the one against Woli. I would like to see Ippo beating people in the first round so he can at least look like a serious contender to the world.
This guy's going to take Ippo to the bottom of the ocean. (Seriously, they already did the gut punch fanservice for those creepy gut punch fetish people back with that fisherman dude. We're getting it again?)

Negi's harem powers should dominate that poor fool.
Does the Nurse girl stick it up Negi's butt yet.

The move that Jiraiya told Naruto not to use before he went hunting for Sasuke whereabouts with Sakura, Sai, and Yamato.

It's not Rasenhuriken. He developed the Rasenshuriken afterward when Yamato/Kakashi train him on his elemental affinity. The throwing Rasenshuriken was developed after he was told not to use it again because it was so dangerous at close range.

I don't think so. Jiraiya referred it to "that jutsu," I don't think turning into fox mode counts as a jutsu.

I bet "that" jutsu is the "Dead Demon Seal". Actually, it makes too much sense. Like all the other Kages that sacrificed themselves, Naruto will use it as well. Why the demon fox chakra has anything to do with it, I don't know. But I'm betting Naruto already learned the hand signs for it and also shows why he hasn't used "that jutsu" yet. It's something you can only use once. Using it on Madara would make perfect sense as well. He can seal him away forever, thus taking care of someone who is seemingly alive only in spirit.

Of course, he'll be revived after he uses it for obvious reasons.

Got myself the first 2 volumes of the Shaman King Kanzenban (called Shaman King Perfect Edition here) and it's not bad at all. Big format, some color pages and some stuff have been redrawn. Now I'll have to wait for the last volumes to read the true ending.
Also, can't wait for

I liked the scanlation so I'm excited it'll come out soon here (it should be out this month).

So, anyone know what the heck Dragonball SD is? Is there any difference from Dragonball?

Dragonball SD is a spin off series made by a different author than Akira Toriyama, just like the other spin off mangas that have been coming out in Jump (Chopper Man, Rock Lee, etc...). It's not a continuation of the original Dragon Ball series and just focuses on the adventures of young Goku.

They haven't been coming out of Weekly Shounen Jump though. They are part of Saikyou Jump, Shueisha's new magazine aimed at even younger kids than WSJ.

I think yen press is the publisher in the US. I wasn't impressed with their Yotsuba release either, quality changed from volume to volume. The first volume had the good paper then they started using that newspaper-like paper.

I'm really not looking forward to the K-on! anime dub release. I hope they just call it rock instead of pop. :P

Reborn!

"Choice" seems like such an obvious mode for the games I'm surprised one of them actually has it.

Well damn. I knew we couldn't have a harmless romp in the future without going to timetravel crazy town.

And now it's turning into that Jet Li movie.

That's more confusing since it's following the same story.

Oh ok, thanks. Surprised the original authors are allowing this.

I think I started that one a while back. I believe I dropped it after
she seemed to pretty much accept the guy
. I'm not sure if I actually read it through to the end or stopped...

Yeah I did pretty much the same thing. It wasn't bad, but after a certain point I just had no desire to keep reading. The infrequent releases didn't help either.

BTW you didn't read it through to the end because it isn't over yet.

Oh, it's by the mangaka of Life. No wonder everyone seems so insane.

I can understand why you dropped it. If I didn't like the female protagonist and the premise enough, maybe I'd have done the same once things turned around, but I still wanted to follow some of the development since everything happened "fast" enough by shoujo standards and I thought it would end soon, except...

Yeah, that. I was stuck on chapter 11 for a while waiting on chapter 12 to get translated. At least with a proper publication I won't have that kind of problem, the waiting will be reserved to entire volumes instead of single chapters :lol

For some strange reasons, I'm really enjoying Parasite Pals. The story is weird (one day girl becomes able to smell people's feelings, like excitement, lies etc and finds out that it's because an alien is now in her head) and a little bit smut, the art isn't great, not bad either but it's a tad... approximative, although the characters make some interesting expressions sometimes, and yet after 6 volumes I keep reading it with much interest.

I can only explain it with the drama being entertaining enough and the characters being a bunch of crazy heads that are able to draw me in.
Kind of like Mei-chan's Butler is able to keep me reading even amidst all the absurdity of the situations presented (can't wait for the next volume, now that 4 years have passed in the story and Mei has grown up).

I wonder if Life is a worthwhile series to try and get my hands on. I keep wanting to check it out (because of the covers and reading that the characters in it are insane), but many volumes are out of print and I'd have to go look for 2nd hand volumes on ebay or something.

Knowing it's the same author though, I think I'll read this one just to get an idea about her.

Just came to the realization that today marks that I've been reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for a year now. In that time it's become my favorite ongoing manga series, good times.

Caught up with Limit. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it is good fun. Going by my experience with Life, I'm sure
the handsome male character that was introduced at the end of chapter 8 will try to rape the protagonist.

What...that sounds ridiculous. How does that make sense? Even Sasuke using that justu would make more sense. I'm sure it's something else entirely

Oh wow I'm surprised this got licensed. I had the same reaction when I saw Koko ni iru yo! one the shelf at a local store. But Suki tte ii na yo is pretty good indeed.
