Mardock Scramble vol 2

Balot's reasons for changing her outlook on things is a bit misguided, but I like her new way of approaching the incoming events, so that's a plus.
Great volume.

Yeah, that too. It would be the first time to see her kicking some ass, right? Also, I hope Oda didn't screw up her redesign, like he did with Franky.

Really if he makes her sexier I'd be disappointed because she had that plain jane thing going on and that's been ok in my book (& to be honest highly refreshing).

You're in Italy right Lain? Is this licensed over there?

Yes and yes.

Kiss and Never Cry vol 8-9

I love Yayoi Ogawa. This woman has a good ability at mixing comedy and drama together, and there is something really alluring in a story that is able to make you feel depressed one moment because of the backstory (kidnapping of young girls by a club of old perverts, which ruined Michiru's life), and make you laugh the next moment thanks to some stupid face one of the character makes or something stupid that is said (Michiru snapping pics of Hikaru and Leon, Michiru drooling for some food, Hikaru laughing with Leon, happy for being invited to drink out, while Leon is annoyed as he tells him he didn't want to call him, he just dialed the wrong number etc etc).
Volume 8 and 9 had a resolution in regards to the disgusting Club Bambina, with Michiru and Hikaru finally finding out who killed Hikaru's brother and was in the room Michiru was held after being kidnapped as a kid, plus Leon and Michiru finally getting back together, which made me really happy.

Not once in this entire arc has there been any indication that Shirohishi would even be considered to become a crew member. It seems much more likely that she's now ready to take over her responsibilities as princess on the island itself, protecting it and beginning to take over fishman relations with humans.

I'm not really any more sold on Jinbei joining but he definitely seems like he fits with the crew more to me. I don't get the feeling he is too strong and will overpower them. Pre-timeskip, yeah. But now? Not at all. In fact, I feel the exact opposite. he seems like he's on par with all of them, even though there's not exactly a true enemy to gauge that strength yet.

I get really good gristly, war hero, seen it all, old man type, without being to old to do anything about it.

And not to mention the fact that he had his own "VS." panel.

I agree with this. Shirohoshi doesn't really fit with the crew in my opinion for a number of reasons;

1. She's extremely weak/whiny (And not in a funny way like Usopp was previously)
2. She's WAY too big to journey on the Sunny and if they go on island for an adventure, she'd be stuck beside the ship and giving her almost no role in an arc
3. She has way more responsibilities she could be taking care of on Fishman Island as opposed to traveling the world. I'd imagine she'd want to carry on her mother's role of preaching acceptance of humans to the Fishman and that requires her to remain on the Island.
4. She lacks any "true" power or skills (Outside calling for Sea Kings to fight for her, which wouldn't work in every situation) that could be of use to the crew. With Luffy heading into the New World, he's gonna need strong crew mates, not weak ones that couldn't even defend themselves.

Jimbei on the other hand is a much better fit. Like Fidelis said, he's got the "wise, old man" personality the crew is lacking and he can fill one of the few roles on the Straw Hat's have been lacking thus far: A true helmsman. Up until this point, the job of helming the ship has kind of rotated (With Franky taking it most of the time) and has lacked a steady person for this position. Jimbei was the helmsman for his previous crew and has shown himself to be a competent one so far already during the Whitebeard War.

Add on the fact that he's battle side by side with the crew, along with him having his own "Vs" panel and all signs point towards Jimbei being the "9th one". I'm all for it, since Jimbei rocks ass.

Sailor Moon vol 12 (end)

The whole space/time travel feels so cheesy, especially in this volume. Sailor Cosmos is also a bit weird, as she's a Sailor Moon from the future, but why is she Cosmos and not Moon? Why she appears as a little kid?
The head-tilts of the golem Sailors were shaft-nice.

At the end, some parts of Sailor Moon were nice, some other were really stupid, but the stupid parts were more tolerable in manga form than they were in anime form for me. The color illustrations were cool too.

Strongest Man Kurosawa vol 7

This is so fuckin depressing. Every time something goes right for the guy, something else goes horribly wrong to put him in a worse situation than he was before :(

There's also a third storyline novel or something planned isn't there?

Vinland Saga

Things are finally starting to connect in a big way. The pace should ramp up from now on.

Medaka 123

Hahaha, amazing. Incredible. I love this. The best thing.

it's also confirming that the manga will end soon

The
resolution of Medaka and Zenkichi's relationship status is probably the ending point of the series. And I'm okay with, if not wholly expecting and looking forward to, that
.

How early?

Well whatever it is, I can sort of guarantee that whatever it was when you stopped, it's definitely not that right now.

I think it was around the time Kumagawa first came into the story with his crew of henchmen, last thing I remember reading was a chapter with that one chapter with the yandere stalker girl falling for Zenkichi.

If you didn't like that then I don't think you'll enjoy the current Kumagawa Box.

Oh then that's not really early, more like halfway in.

It definitely one-upped itself a few more times since then but I'm not sure if you should still go for it.

HxH

Didn't Togashi's hiatuses start primarily during the Ant Arc? I'm honestly wondering if he just got bored writing it, and if that didn't have something to do with the breaks (no matter what the official word/hearsay might be).

HxH is very interesting right now and that might be because Togashi is actually interested in producing it. Hopefully that will stave off hiatuses in the future.

The first crazy hiatus started after chapter 260. 261's the chapter of the invasion.

At this point I wouldn't count on Togashi putting out chapters any faster than he already does. Right now it seems he found a good and flexible system for himself. There's a chance he'll gradually rise to 30 chapters per hiatus (since, knock on wood, it seems he locked into 20 after rising from 10), but if we're talking chapters per year I doubt it'll be that much better than the 20.

And for whatever that's worth, there is no official word on the reason, and the rumors are either back pains, hand pains, or Dragon Quest.
