Whelp, I'm officially going to hate playing this game.
Except ND has repeatedly said that the trailer is representative of what you're going to see in TLoU. They even specifically talked about DI and how they were worried that it was attempting to do what they're doing with TLoU after they saw the trailer. Their fears were eased when they saw that the actual gameplay had little resemblance to the trailer.
How does that third shot even get released? lol... I mean this is by far my most anticipated game but I'm thinking WTF on that one.
Man that trailer was full CG, had nothing to do with the game. What we saw of The Last of Us was a scene from the game.Just pointing out.
DI's trailer positively dumbfounded everyone. The end product? Well...
Many people before pointed out the exact same thing, we get it.Just pointing out.

Also the screens look really clear if not bullshot clear.
Wonder what type of post processing AA they are using. And is this a open world or open sections game?

What ND shows is what you get.
Remember this?
It's just so they'll blow your mind even more when it gets released.

I don't find it to be different at all, we got a look of the outside areas at the end of the trailerI'm just making an observation... the art style is different. I haven't said whether or not I like it more or less.
Was just a bit surprised... expecting the fast ball and instead we got the change up.
So where do you place? What exactly where you expecting when they announced it would take place across the u.s?
I think the main point is that the game itself actually looks like concept art. It's the art style that sells it. Very different from what they were doing with the Uncharted series.
It's not comic book-y or cel-shaded like a lot that go with a less-realistic style, but very art like, texture-wise.
Oh, I know. They could haveplaced it in NY, and shown a destroyed statue of liberty. Or DC, with a destroyed washington monument and white house. The would have been new, innovative, and non-generic.
ND always releases super sampled screens, nothing new. Expect the same asset wise but with aliasing.
The developers stress that The Last of Us is not one long escort mission. Although you won't control Ellie in the game, her AI is one of the team's primary areas of focus. In our demo she always managed to keep up, yet stay out of the way. She didn't seem to need any babysitting at all.
Meh. I just don't think games ever get that big city feel right. Maybe this will change things.just don't get what your standards are
Exactly what they've shown. That's my issue. So where do you place? What exactly where you expecting when they announced it would take place across the u.s?
Heh yeah, who sets things in New York except everyone?
I didn't ask for you issue. I asked where would you place the game to make it less generic.Meh. I just don't think games ever get that big city feel right. Maybe this will change things.

Same. Bring it Naughty Dog!Wow... looks nice. I typically don't like survival games but... ND, I will try just for you.
I hope you're right. Those screenshots were underwhelming.I can tell this will look great in motion.

Yes.i read they are going across America tho so not just Pittsburgh. correct me if i'm wrong.
This post is kind of disingenuous. Compare the characters. It's as if a few of you guys are interpreting my comments like some sort of attack when I was just making an observation.
They clearly changed the style. This is not even debatable. I'm sorry, it's not.

Well it looks as expected. If the reveal trailer is any indication the animation is the real visual high point.
Frankly I'm pretty much ready for next-gen.

Uncharted 4I feel the same. I still don't understand why Sony didn't just release this as a launch title for PS4.
