Has anyone here played Fragile Dreams?

Seems like this could turn out to be Uncharted: Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of Pittsburgh

Except ND has repeatedly said that the trailer is representative of what you're going to see in TLoU. They even specifically talked about DI and how they were worried that it was attempting to do what they're doing with TLoU after they saw the trailer. Their fears were eased when they saw that the actual gameplay had little resemblance to the trailer.

Just pointing out.

DI's trailer positively dumbfounded everyone. The end product? Well...

How does that third shot even get released? lol... I mean this is by far my most anticipated game but I'm thinking WTF on that one.

Remember this?

It's just so they'll blow your mind even more when it gets released.

Man that trailer was full CG, had nothing to do with the game. What we saw of The Last of Us was a scene from the game.

For those of you that don't really know how game development works. A lot of stuff does not get finalized or polished until close to release (which is likely a year away), especially at ND they like cutting it close. Don't fret over textures or lack of hud now. Especially the textures, ND has some of the best texture/shader artists working there. And early versions use a lot of placeholder textures...

Also the screens look really clear if not bullshot clear.
Wonder what type of post processing AA they are using. And is this a open world or open sections game?

I'm just making an observation... the art style is different. I haven't said whether or not I like it more or less.

Was just a bit surprised... expecting the fast ball and instead we got the change up.

ND always releases super sampled screens, nothing new. Expect the same asset wise but with aliasing.

I don't find it to be different at all, we got a look of the outside areas at the end of the trailer

So where do you place? What exactly where you expecting when they announced it would take place across the u.s?

Oh, I know. They could haveplaced it in NY, and shown a destroyed statue of liberty. Or DC, with a destroyed washington monument and white house. The would have been new, innovative, and non-generic.

I think the main point is that the game itself actually looks like concept art. It's the art style that sells it. Very different from what they were doing with the Uncharted series.

It's not comic book-y or cel-shaded like a lot that go with a less-realistic style, but very art like, texture-wise.

Indeed. The first two screens come off as a matte painting in a way.

You know what has me the most stoked? We're not in a destroyed New York or a ravaged Washington. We're somewhere different.

Heh yeah, who sets things in New York except everyone?

The developers stress that The Last of Us is not one long escort mission. Although you won't control Ellie in the game, her AI is one of the team's primary areas of focus. In our demo she always managed to keep up, yet stay out of the way. She didn't seem to need any babysitting at all.

Boooooooo. Was kinda hoping the game would be from her perspective.

Edit: Game looks great, though.

Looking really good and I am sure it will look better when released.

Some of you expecting PC textures and AA running on these old consoles...are just setting up for disappointment. I don't think we will go beyond UC, KZ or GoW graphics on this gen.

This post is kind of disingenuous. Compare the characters. It's as if a few of you guys are interpreting my comments like some sort of attack when I was just making an observation.

They clearly changed the style. This is not even debatable. I'm sorry, it's not.

Well it looks as expected. If the reveal trailer is any indication the animation is the real visual high point.

Frankly I'm pretty much ready for next-gen.

What's different about it.

Wow, I know it's been said before, but this entire graphical style is just like Enslaved. Enslaved was post-apocalyptic, but did so in a very non-gray way, which this game is seemingly trying to emulate.

I feel the same. I still don't understand why Sony didn't just release this as a launch title for PS4.

What? They look exactly the same, that's why I even though you were talking about the environment. You have like 5 people disagreeing with you, you might be right about it not being debatable, but it's probably the other way around.
