I feel the same. I still don't understand why Sony didn't just release this as a launch title for PS4.
This is being made by a second team, and is already 2 years in development. I don't understand why people want this for an unreleased system which probably won't be released anytime soon.

So this is the level of visual fidelity ND can output when they aren't making super-restrictive corridor shooters.

Still looks okay.

I don't understand it either, then we'll need to wait like 2 years for this.

Textures look laughably bad in some places and the characters' style has changed somehow, I don't know how to describe it yet, but the screens definitely give me the feeling of a changed character style.

Apart from these aspects I think the screens are not worth mentioning, the trailer conveyed more and I want to see some real gameplay shots...

Tbh, I really do think it looks good and don't understand what all the whining is about.

Most people ITT will be buying it regardless, myself included.

People are confused about the lack of polish, from a game that's a year away. I'm always amazed games can be even somewhat shown a year before release.

I'd be in the dick
Visuals are looking really nice in those screens. Can't wait to see how it'll look at launch. ND's games have always improved by a considerable margin from reveal to release.

I think the screenshots represent a grand, well-realized vision of a world stopped dead in its tracks. Nothing's overcooked; it just is what it is and captured in a believable manner. Lots of the vivid detail expected of ND is on full display.

People calling out the low-res textures of the truck in the third image are justified though.

The screenshot with the standard looking hobo guys attacking the standard looking hobo protagonist did more to put me off than any wonky texture.

I loved the announcement trailer, and I'll probably enjoy the final game, but it's hard to get excited in the slightest by those screenshots. They don't give us anything we couldn't already deduce from the announcement trailer.

First screenshot reminded me of Enslaved. Obviously the game will play/run better by a mile, but this setting doesn't look/sound much more interesting. I think I'll just stick to the Jak collection and call it a day, Naughty Dog...

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Meh--was hoping Naughty Dog would move on to something a little less like Uncharted.

As usual, graphics looks great.

I hope they dont put enemy waves similar to Uncharted in this game. I'd rather there be random enemies by themselves just walking around at times instead of having large groups of enemies come at you in waves the whole game.

Before long they fired up an amazing live gameplay demo showcasing the combat, stealth, and presentation style and offering a glimpse at the evolving character relationship between protagonists Joel and Ellie. The team offered frank and open responses to all of our questions and only really held back on heavy spoilers and elements that weren’t 100 percent nailed down yet. They were also gracious enough to play through the whole fascinating demo again (and we didn’t even have to beg that much).

On day two, we conducted several on-camera interviews and rounded up loads of online content that will roll out throughout the entire month of February. So be sure to head over to gameinformer.com to see our full front and back panoramic cover image and keep coming back for more The Last of Us throughout the days ahead. In fact, you don’t have to wait long. At 4:00PM Central Time today, we’re exclusively debuting the first three in-game screenshots of The Last of Us. We’ll see you there!

Lost all credibility.
The developers stress that The Last of Us is not one long escort mission. Although you won't control Ellie in the game, her AI is one of the team's primary areas of focus. In our demo she always managed to keep up, yet stay out of the way. She didn't seem to need any babysitting at all.
I wonder if Ellie will factor into the game in interesting ways or will she amount to this game's version of Navi, there to give hints for puzzles and stuff.

Looks OK I guess. I'm more interested in seeing how it plays. Scavenging and stealth have me interested.

Some details from another topic..
-Not as linear as the Uncharted games but not open world, you can choose to go into places such as a coffee shop but its optional

-Ammo is in short supply, so don't expect shootouts like in uncharted.

-There will be situations where you have to help the other, but not in an obvious way. The developers hate games where you have to brainlessly defend a NPC

-They wanted to steer away from post apocalyptic cliches so the world will be lush and green

-The first version of the game looks very similar to UC , so they use a new way of rendering and alterted the lightning. The camerawork is rougher too.

looks solid, but a little generic. I wish it had a stronger art style. Do we know if it's first or third person yet? I'm assuming third.

I think melee is going to play a big role

Combat includes both gunplay and melee attacks. Weapons will break after repeated use, so you'll have to scavenge around for new items frequently.

Not sure if that include guns, most likey for melee weapons though.

Third person.

It looks...nice. It looks very much like Enslaved, not made on UE3.

That first shoot actually reminds me of Crysis 2. Generic buildings and bluish lighting...
