Info thread at mid-march, I'm ok with this but from Nintendo's official facebook page... They started in March too and last week they qualified of "imminent" the release of the game...
This is ridiculous. This will be a long and hard way to the game's release. Community managers have no other Wii U game to advertise and they started 3 months ahead.

Anyway, at least it's true the game is pretty well long-awaited. Still on my feeling reading their facebook posts comments, people do wait happily for MK8. Usually, they get many harsh comments on their Wii U related post.

We do not know yet but it is highly likely as Konno said the game would support “all controllers”.

Really hoping that this game has more than 16 new tracks. 20 tracks in either 4 GPs of 5 races or 5 GPs of 4 would be ideal for me.

At the same time I have a feeling that the Retro tracks will get some proper facelifts and adjustments, so that should be good.

I'm trying to avoid spoiling the tracks for myself. I'm also thinking that after years of MK7 in 3D I'm really going to miss that extra dimension.

It would be a really nice surprise. I think they have enough tracks to afford using 20 from now on.

I think the game is confirmed to have the Gamepad as an option.

Edit: Unless you meant adding control options for local multiplayer. Oops.

I hope the inevitable NeoGAF Community will be somewhat active. I was disappointed that the MK7 GAF Community always seemed pretty barren. I don't think I ever found a game that way.

Yes, you can see Mario Circuit and Toad Harbour on the TV screens, it seems it's the same old E3 demo.

I wish Nintendo could Putin 64 levels instead of the measly 32, we are getting to a point where the each old installment of Mario Kart only has 1-2 levels in retro part :/

I hope this will be the first MK to host additional dlc tracks.

Didn't Mario Kart Wii have pretty good online? I heard it was much better than Smash Bros.

I haven't had many problems with the 3DS game's online either.

Same. I've found playing racing games with the GamePad kills my hands because I grip it really tightly, and the bottom edges dig into my palms.
