Mannnnnn! This game can't come soon enough!
Didn't some Kart combinations in 7 give you the ability to do inline turning though? I would assume it'd be the same deal in 8.

Nope, inline turning doesn't exist in MK7.
I guess it's just a term to mean the bike/cart has high grip (low drift or whatever the stat is).Sorry, I know this will sound dumb probably, but what is "inline turning"? I do not like most racing games (only a fan of kart racers), so my knowledge of various racing terms is quite lacking, lol.
I swear I found a combination that had really sharp turning, but maybe that's not the exact same thing as inline turning for whatever reason.

With all that content, it'll be over 10GB, easily.Do we know the file size yet? I'm about to run out of room on my Wii U's 32GB of storage... Thanks, Donkey Kong...

It'll be something economic like 729MB lol, and GAF of course will diminish the quality of the game. With all that content, it'll be over 10GB, easily.
Did you guys see this?

First-party games tend to be ridiculously efficient. 3D World was barely over a gig, as I recall. This might be a little larger, but I wouldn't expect anything like 10GB. Maybe half that at most.
I think Thwomp Ruins is the best new track that we have seen in its entirety.
From a visual perspective, design perspective, music perspective, etc...
It has it all.
Just when you(or I should say I, maybe others don't see it this way) think some of the courses are on the simplistic side, you then realize shortcuts/alternate paths that you didn't notice before.
That's a reason that I could watch videos of every single track before the game releases without being spoiled.
It's a different feel when you play them and realize all the different routes you can take.
Well. Take a look at this. Year-long marketing campaign for Mario Kart 8:

This is definitely a good move on their part. This game is the one to push out there if they hope to move more units, for sure.Well. Take a look at this. Year-long marketing campaign for Mario Kart 8:

Don't start thr TV campaign AFTER the game is out, you baffoons! The hell is wrong with them!?
They didn't say that, they just said they will continue with TV marketing even after the game launches.
The wording implies it will start at the game's launch.

To herald the launch of the most hotly anticipated Wii U title to date we will have marketing activity pre-launch as well as post-launch moving through the summer and into peak season, said Nintendo UKs Mario brand manager Roger Langford.

This is pretty much the most important Wii U game so yeah, they better market it to Hell and back.
Why is it relevant when the game actually hits shelves?
Smash Bros.?
Mario Kart has a wider appeal.Smash Bros.?
Normally you want to grow interest for your game BEFORE it comes out.
I would say Mario Kart is "more important" and more popular than Smash Bros.
Fair enough, and I would agree. The highest selling Smash game is just a third of the highest selling Kart game, after all.Mario Kart has a wider appeal.

The wait for this game is killing me. Whyyyyyyy May 30th, Nintendo!?
Just a bit longer...

This needs to happen in NA also. Saturate the air waves Nintendo, and for the finale this fall / winter, $199 Wii U with free MK8 download, to pull Wii U back from the edge of the cliff it's currently staring at.

Needs to be a global campaign with heavy online presence.
I really hope Nintendo has been saving their pennies for this (well, what else have they been saving them for?).
Post reminds me that I have a whole bunch of NNIDs to go and collect soon.![]()
MKWii (and NSMBWii) ads were running for 2+ years in the UK. Those games had legs, but the market was different back then. Should be interesting to see how well MK8 does but really I think holiday 2014, the "peak season" as nintendo called it in that article, will give us an indication of how well it's really done but will also be MK8's & the Wii'Us last chance of doing some significant numbers.
Why is everyone only talking about the UK market alone.Yes, it's a big videogame market, but it's not even the biggest in Europe. Besides, the UK isn't even Europe![]()
The European Market is much bigger and lead by Germany (which is the biggest European Videogame market). See here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=785988
So far, the metric of how well the Wii U does in Europe is not determined by the UK market (not even close). The Uk market is one of the biggest dude-bro markets out there (not an insult, just and observation) and dominated by FPS' and FIFA (that's ok). Nintendo's gonna have a hard time there, we know, but it greatly annoys me that most of the European discussion surrounding the Wii U is focused so much on the UK.
Germany, France, Spain, Italy and many other European Countries will show how popular Mario Kart 8 is really gonna be, and those Countries LOVE Mario Kart. Especially France is right now the EU Market where the Wii U sells best (viva la France! ^.^).
Anyway, to get back on topic a little bit and since there are no real "new" news about Mario Kart 8 available at the moment...
What do you guys think are the worst & what are the best Mario Kart 7 tracks?
