IGN messed up and called it "Electrodome".
The best Bowsers Castle for a retro course would be Bowsers Castle DS.
IGN was better for one instant of their life, I can't fucking say the official name as easily.

That's not the quickest route. Go right and then left through the short bridge.
Ah, didn't know Electrodome had been named. Klub Koopaling's a lot more fun, if I can blow my own trumpet for a moment. And a DK ice track would surely have to be based around Tropical Freeze?
As for Bowser's retro, I'm thinking with the anti-grav stuff the GCN version presents the most opportunities as it's already fairly twisty-turny, not to mention that the GCN isn't very well represented in the list as we know it. I'd love Wario Stadium (N64) to be in there, although doubt it will be as there's already a ton of 64 tracks. Shame, as once again, there's lots of potential for this game's mechanics with all the big jumps.
I agree. Hopefully they made it more even or add new links or even new routes itself!Still, point stands![]()
Bowser's Castle DS has that spinning log platform at the end that they could make antigrav. Also that spiral path up the tower.

Bowser's Castle DS was one of my favourites from that game, but hasn't it been remade already? For some reason I thought it had been done on the 3DS version (which I don't own).
It occurs to me now that it's a double shame the road to the castle on Royal Raceway has been closed off because it finally would have allowed racers to drive through the moat. It'd be phenomenal if they turned the castle exterior into a battle arena, it seems quite well suited.
When NeoGAF starts supporting embedding .webm files, shit will go down. For all the the gif makers. 4chan just started supporting webm files.

The last new track is most likely a DK ice track since both DK and ice aren't represented yet and are always in previous 3D games.
Why do people hate Metal Mario? That was like the best part of Mario 64. Is he really overpowered or something?
While Metal Mario was silly and pointless in 7, in 8 he actually seems justified. After all, he can be shiny and reflective and show off the Wii U's graphical capacity.
Still, point stands![]()
32 since DS. I wish they made more tracks. Maybe introduce a new cup and up the number to 36.
Bowser's Car better be in this game. All I gotta say.
We'll see plenty more available for DLC I reckon if Nintendo have any sense. I'd put money on another 16. And they will announce it either in their pre-E3 Nintendo Direct or at E3. It's going to be a licence to print money for them.
I don't understand why people bring this up. You're supposed to stay on the top of the log in order to land on the next part of the track, or fall off and lose time. If you're able to go antigrav on the log and go on the bottom side of it, you'll arrive against the wall, and the fall-off hazard is basically removed which makes the road under useless.
How does that work for online games???
DLC content in the form of arenas and tracks...
Or would it just be for offline play???

IGN messed up and called it "Electrodome". Nintendo probably wanted to call it the Technodrome, but couldn't.
So I put in a pre-order at Gamestop despite having a pre-order from Newegg... I think I might have a problem
They could change that. Mario Kart Wii had tracks with halfpipes but that didn't stop them from redesigning Maple Treeway to not have them when they remade it for MK7. It was hard to fall off anyway. It'd be much cooler as an antigrav thing. Maybe they could put obstacles on it that, if hit, knock you off.

That's not a good example of redesigning though. The half-pipe ramps in Mario Kart Wii were optional, and for some reason they just straight up removed them in Mario Kart 7's Wii Maple Treeway & Wii Koopa Cape, and moved the item boxes accordingly. Yet, I can't even imagine how butchered Wii DK's Snowboard Cross will look like if the half-pipe ramps are gone for good, because it heavily relied on them.
You're only put with other players who have the same DLC setup as you. It introduces userbase fragmentation and multiple other complications, which is why I believe Nintendo won't bother with it or will release it for free.

They could do what Halo 2 did. Offer them early to those who want to pay, then eventually roll them out for free to everyone else.
Hmm not Nintendo style to do that as they believe in offering good value for everyone when it comes to DLC.
How is free not a good value? =D

They could make it so that if you don't buy the DLC you can still race the tracks/arenas online but you can't vote for them.
Then we'd have complaints of on disk dlc. They could make it so that if you don't buy the DLC you can still race the tracks/arenas online but you can't vote for them.
Interesting idea, but it's not like that matters much since you only have a 1/12 shot of getting it most of the time anyway. That'd be a more effective idea for a game with less players

Depends on how many people vote for it. You only have a 1/12 chance if only 1 person votes for it. Odds improve with more votes.
I'm not sure I understand--you always have a 1/12 shot of your choice being selected in a 12-player game. Yes, other people can vote for the same track, but that would be the case regardless.
You have a 1/12 chance of the roulette stopping on your choice. If 4 people vote for the same track then that track has a 4/12 (1/3) chance of getting selected. If everyone votes for the same track there is a 100% chance of that track getting selected, not 1/12.
I understand the odds, I don't see what that has to do with anything. Your influence is always just 1/12 (assuming a full game)
If you don't buy the DLC, you can't vote for it. Everyone that does not have the DLC that is in a lobby will decrease the odds of a DLC track getting picked by 1/12th. With bigger lobbies more people would have to buy the DLC to improve the odds of it appearing than with smaller lobbies, meaning potentially more sales. They could allow it to show up if you don't have it if you pick random, but that would be a 1/12-100% chance of getting picked and then a ?/33+ chance of getting a DLC track.
SC started the extra tracks, having all the SNES tracks was awesome.
For new Bowser's Castle I'm hoping they base it on World 8 of Super Mario 3D World. Imagine racing on the skyscraper where the last battle takes place (probably racing on the walls with antigravity) and then falling into the wheel carnival thing (have no idea how they are called in english). Only downside to that is that we already have a park track, but who knows!
Not sure how you'd make it back to the starting line, unless it was a checkpoint course
Epic hang-gliding section, my friend
