MARIO + RABBIDS: Kingdom Battle |OT| XCOM on mushrooms

Reposting here since the original was almost the last post on the previous page:

For people having issues with freezes, jut figured out why.

After even factory reseting my Switch (which made me lose my 80 hr Zelda save but I was planning to replay it anyway), and only installing Mario + Rabbids, the issue persisted. After that, tried to move the game to my SD Card, no dice, same thing. Redownloaded it and now back to built in storage, also same thing.

Finally, since this was happening with carts and in completely different patterns for everyone, decided to delete my Internet settings (since we can't enable airplane mode while docked) and voilá, problem solved.

Long story short, for some reason the game is querying the Internet and I believe that the more unstable / bad is your connection, the more the freezes will happen, like in my case (because Australia).

Not exactly a good fix but should at least eliminate the 3 second freezes for those who get it.

Did anybody opt for the Season Pass? Should I get it?

This game is reminding me a lot of Codename STEAM. As I've never played X-Com before.

I've yet to encounter this issue, but thank you for sacrificing your time and saves to troubleshoot this. I probably have avoided this since I currently do not have an internet connection and have been playing in handheld. Is there really no way to just disable wifi without outright deleting all network settings?

docked i'm not sure.
I wish there was but the strange thing is i've had no issues and i'm playing docked using cart, i have a fairly good internet connection though so maybe your right.

Glad that there is a fix for this, however we shouldn't have to do all this. Hopefully Ubi is working on an official patch too.

Huh, I bought a copy yesterday anda code for the pixel pack was inside

I thought the only way to get it was by pre ordering and via email

Anyway, lucky me I guess

I got the same thing, wasn't even planning on buying this game, just happened to walk into an EB Games and bought it on impulse. Got the Pixel pack code.

Not gonna go through with my order until I hear this is fixed then. Is the game doing data collecting or something?

Yeah, it was a "preorder incentive" in that all first shipment copies had it. Is how many games does it.

Switch owners-please do yourself a favor and get this game. It's an amazing work of art, tons of love went into it and it's just pure joy to play!

Did my part and bought the digital version but would still love a boxed version as I love collecting the physical boxes.

As others have mentioned, this is a game ripe for sequels.

Make no mistake, that Nintendo allowed Ubisoft to have Mario and Nintendo characters use guns is a BIG DEAL and a huge step forward for Nintendo.

The musical score is just Godly and the graphics from the Snow Drop engine are pretty much Pixar quality.

One of my top Switch games. It's between this and Zelda: BOTW. It's *THAT* good imo.

This really should become a series.

Just went through the tutorial last night. Really sharp and smooth game so far. I'm debating whether to do the season pass or not. Any thoughts?

Same here, thank you Amazon.

Damn... such a ringing endorsement...

Okay okay... I'm grabbing this game. Thanks a lot ultrazilla. My wallet hates you.

Quick question: how does the game look in handheld mode? Normally I play docked, but I'm going away for the long weekend and need a nice pretty game to play with headphones for when my family bugs the crap out of me.

:o

Just beat the World 2 midboss. This game is surprisingly tough and has relieved my worry that I could just cruise through the game with a single party lineup. I'm finding myself switching out characters pretty frequently.

Having a blast with this game. The rabbids haven't been nearly as annoying as I was expecting. Still early in the game, and it seems a bit easy, but I am sure it will get harder. Really liking the battle mechanics as well.

If you are on the fence about this game, I would say buy it.

Sounds great, and this game is definitely on my list. I have to work on my backlog some more and honestly im not getting this until the whole '3 second pause' issue is resolved. Stuff like that completely takes me out of a game and ruins the experience.

I am trying to understand this as well, US here, my box had a code to redeem the pixel pack.

Does the DLC also have a different gun set, the steam punk guns?

I am a bit confused by this rogue code in my box haha
Yeah.
The code in the box is for the Pixel Pack.

BUT!

If you buy the Season Pass, you get both the Pixel Pack and Steampunk Pack at the moment of purchase.

How are amiibo implemented? Which ones can be used?

If you have a Mario/Luigi/Peach/Yoshi amiibo you can scan them in a building at Peach's Castle and get two special weapons from each figure. They're not even as good as the Pixel Pack weapons (and I already have better weapons unlocked than those after beating the first boss) so I wouldn't say anyone should go out of their way to get them unless they already have the amiibo lying around.

Got to play a bit of this last night, holy hell is this game good! I cannot remember the last time I was so genuinely surprised (and delighted) by a game before. The intro was adorable and the battles are really enjoyable. The overworld isn't very complicated, but it feels relaxing as a result and the details are wonderful. I am so damn happy that I bought this.

I'm curious about the season pass steampunk weapons personally. I don't think anyone has stats for those online yet. AFAIK they're all secondary weapons?

So yeah, I got my code for Pixel Pack, but at least here in Europe, it's also included in the Season Pass, which I bought. So, now I have extra code, which I don't need. I just leavi it, here, first come, first served.

Quote to reveal:

Yea, the amiibo weapons are stupid, especially if you have the Pixel Pack, since they're just straight downgrades.

I see a lot of people deliberating the season pass. Personally, I don't see a point in purchasing it until we know more about the extra story/campaign content, even if you're really loving the game at this point in time.

When that releases and if it's good and if you happen to be in the mood for more, that would probably be the best time to decide.

Unless you're madly in love with the game and feel compelled to throw an extra $20 to the devs on good faith.

Handheld mode looks fine but there is a softness to the image which the docked
Mode doesn't have. Assume it's not running quite native res in handheld. Looks fine though.

I played a bunch last night and got to the first world boss this morning. It's a fantastic game.

Also, I bought a copy at Target and got the Pixel Weapons Code in the box. They seem a bit OP for the starting area however.

They're all secondary and they also seem to be "use them for the first world then drop 'em" weapons, for the early characters at least. For example Mario's steampunk hammer does 55-65 damage just like like the default but with 90 bounce damage, meanwhile the next hammer you unlock does 95-105 with 137 bounce damage.
