MARIO + RABBIDS: Kingdom Battle |OT| XCOM on mushrooms

I'm on 2-8 now and I'm still kinda confused about something: Do you lose your progress through a given chapter if you warp to Peache's Castle between battles? I've been super paranoid and have been only warping back whenever I make it to a new Chapter, but it's making things really inconvenient. Sometimes I just wanna do one battle and save and move on to other stuff with my day. :/
If you're midway through a chapter, yes, you;ll lose progress - the game will prompt you with a warning message if you try to return when you're in a position where you'd lose progress.

Coming back to the game this evening and specifically to the world 2 boss, rebalancing my abilities (I had previously been quite heavily-weighted towards dash damage, which is useless against that boss) and team composition made it much easier. I messed up once by having my party bunched up within range of a smasher, but then got perfect with very little damage on this evening's second attempt. I've now gone back and perfected the two chapters that I only had as "good", and am doing a bit more digging into world 1 challenges. In doing so, I've just found
the secret chapter
, and
clearing the first battle in one turn
was *very* satisfying.

A question for those much further into the game - is it eventually possible to max out all skills?

Tips for world 3 midboss? All those teleporting rabbids are tearing me apart. Can't find cover where they don't just teleport to the side and wreck me. Can't get Luigi in visual range or they just two shot him no matter if he's in 50% or not, they either just teleport or land every shot regardless. Maybe I should try Peach

I really like this game... but everytime I boot it up I end up playing Splatoon instead!
Can't believe I'm saying that this

But I'm a bit done with splatoon

Might be back for splatfest, but I've done nothing but played online games ever since Zelda.

It's a fresh of breath air to play this game now

apart from launch I have only played splatoon on splatfest weekends and a few matches in between, I love the game but can't play it too often otherwise I get a little bored of it.

I had Rabbid Luigi use his cannon and Luigi Sentry in the first turn. Should be enough to kill two of the three enemies. Maybe try using Mario's M-Power to boost your attack.

its actually easy once you get rid of the first three enemies. Luigi and Mario overwatch skills ruins this Boss. Plus you can slid tackle this guy (I'm assuming it's the coffin dude).

I basically got close. Intentionally taking damage becuase Rabbid Luigi can heal himself and the party if he can dash the boss

Yeah, just beat him. Said "Fuck it" and just ignored everyone after killing one Big guy and a ghost (other teleported away). Sent Rabbid Mario in for a shotgun blast, then Mario for a lucky inksplat, then set him and Luigi to overwatch and they tag teamed him in mid air with 3 crits back to back lol. Ill take that lucky win.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you choose to quit the game entirely and go to the title screen menu instead of the castle, I believe your progress should be fine when you come back next time?

World 1 is complete, went back in to try to find secrets as I've gotten the ability to move the blocks now. This game is sweet, and I'm usually not a fan of turn based strategy games.

Will definitely keep playing for awhile before I go to sleep every night.

this is a really weird game

its just...why

what

i mean it is fun but jesus dude, ubisoft's sense of humor is so...just dumb

its so duuumb

Wow, the difficulty jump in chapter 4 is a little obnoxious.

Does that mean world 4 or world 1 level 4?

I'm halfway through world 2 and I'm wondering if I've passed the difficulty spike or if I've yet to get to it. I've been doing good so far but I'm wondering if I'm getting a false sense of comfort

World 4. First time I've had to use Easy Mode. The amount of pure enemy spam is ridiculous. Most enemies start using ink. It's dumb.

Just started this, question. I don't have the game near me at the moment so I can't check.

If I bounce someone out of cover, will it trigger someone else's overwatch ability?

I'm thinking of using it at 3-2. Like, Peek-a-Boos are straight up broken. Teleporting, magnetic dance, insane range and 90 damage per shot..oh and vampiric on top of that because why the fuck not. What were they thinking...

I don't find them hard at all so far. Just prioritize them in battle. Make use of multi-dashes, explosive dashes, stomps, etc, to stack damage for quick kills.

Once your overwatch is active, anything that causes the enemy to move from their current cell within your hero's line of sight will trigger the auto-attack. It can be the enemy's own movement on their turn, or push or bounce or running around while on fire
or certain later abilities that prompt enemy movements
. So yes it absolutely works.

I got stuck with my first not-perfect on the World 2 miniboss because the jerks basically combo'd Rabbid Luigi and left him in a spot where I couldn't do anything to really save him. Overcoming enemy overwatches is actually fairly tricky in this!

Putting points in dash and movement is the way to go. I have that specc'ed with Rabbid Yoshi and he can really put the hurt on, especially if you combine it with a grenade+fear+Mario/Luigi on Overwatch....so deadly.

Game is drop dead gorgeous and the music is so great as well. That bass clarinet on World 3, amazing! Everything about World 3 leaves me begging for a new Luigi's Mansion.

Pretty sure you can use sentry drones to safely bait an enemy's overwatch

There should be an option to confirm movement. More than once I've screwed myself by accidentally moving to an open spot.

E: and now my game crashed in the middle of the World 3 boss. This is taking forever to get through, and it's not because it's hard.

World 3 is amazing. It's pretty much the ultimate Halloween level. You have a ghost town with graveyards, crumbling houses, cobblestone streets, a creaky windmill, and more caskets than Yharnam; you have a ruined Taj Mahal-like palace with floating candles and magic books; you have a countryside with scarecrows, bales of hay and fall colors; you have boardwalks running through a half-submerged town, followed by a creepy carnival, a slimy swamp, pumpkin patches, a forest of bramble thickets, etc. It just keeps going and going, the scenery constantly changing. Top-notch stuff.

Picked it up. On 1-5. Really am into it. I am not good at the genre but hey, it's on the Switch so I am going to consider it since I love the machine. I am glad I made the plunge.

This game is AMAZING! I beat World 1 and I'm going through it again to hoard coins and find all the secrets. I absolutely love the secrets, especially the
new hidden area
and the things you get feel so satisfying in this game. The battles feel so good and I seriously take my time to plan everything out and try to figure out their next moves too.

I love this game.

World 3 is a big jump from World 2, especially after you fight the mini boss. Haven't done World 4 yet.

Oh what, that'd definitely help if true. (I'll test it out later tonight.)

So my friend got the game today and it's been a little delight looking at how the crossover is referenced and the easter eggs. Pretty chill night. However, I kept saying "Holy shit, this music sounds like Rare music," and "Fuck, I need a new Viva Pinata/proper Banjo Kazooie game." Looked up the composer.

It's Grant Kirkhope.

Guys, I'm so happy this shit exists.

I get so much Banjo Kazooie vibes from this game it's not even funny. I know it's mainly due to the music, but the Flower guy how he spits stuff out of his mouth just reminded me of characters from Banjo and Kazooie and how they would spit Jiggys out of their mouths.

This game has no business being this good. But it is, and I love it! First game I've played in a long time where I just can't put it down. Bravo Ubisoft.
