No, one field (The Wastelands) has random bolts of electricity, however they will always strike near the ball (Since it's metal). When the screen darkens the lightning comes, so it's wise to actually hand the ball over to the enemy so they get shocked or just kick it away.
No field in the game has truly annoying or overpowered random happenings IMO:
The Vice: No special things.
Thunder Island: Tractors, cows and Cheep-Cheeps blow across the field and knock off anybody they hit for about 10-15 seconds. They're so small that they're easily avoided though, and only 1 appears at a time mostly.
The Sand Tomb: Thwomps crash down in the center, sand that slows you down around the edges. Thwomps are unpredictable but no big bother.
The Classroom: No special things (I'm pretty sure? Myke Greywolf said it was slightly slippery but that isn't true, I think).
The Lava Pit: Balls of lava fall on the field and create circles of fire which make you lose the ball if you run into them, easily avoided as the fire moves through the air slowly.
The Wastelands: See above, it also has a slippery floor since it snows.
The Dump: Constant flow of mud towards the center of the course which moves your character with it, but it's hardly noticeable since you're constantly on the move anyway.
Stormship Stadium: Tilts towards the side which more characters are on (The more characters the more it tilts) and electricity courses through a couple of tiny passages carved into the ground (Only 3-4 at a time, just stay away from the passages when the screen darkens).
Galactic Stadium: No special things, pretty sure.
All classic stadiums: Nothing special either.
And seriously, those who complain you have to unlock the cheats to turn off stadium features, MegaStrikes, Skillshots and more - The first 8 or so cheats (Which include all of those) are very easy to achieve if you give it more than 5 freaking minutes.
