It checks out

:O

Hallwayatta.

She controls hallways. The defenders are fucked.
My dear heroes you thought you could defeat me.

But every hallway you've been in. It's been molded by me. And every new hallway, it'll be me.

What's that? You will avoid hallways? How could you. Everything is one. You can't escape inevitability

see i wanted to keep up with all the netflix marvel stuff but i kept getting put off by people on here constantly ragging on them. then again, that seems mostly concentrated to this site and i've heard some good stuff specifically about jessica jones elsewhere so i might give it a shot.

my major problem with daredevil was that it really did drag itself out for too long, making the idea of revisiting the series unlikely despite the extreme highs it occasionally touched on. which is why i'm a little worried about starting up the jj or cage series since i've seen similar complaints levelled at them. but i'll try and give them a shot because i do remember being excited about the prospect of this series.

iron fist on the other hand looks fucking woeful. i hope there isn't anything important in that series that's required for this because i definitely don't want to sit through that.

The Thing about Luke Cage and especailly JJ, is that the superhero-stuff isn't really the focus. That can make them polarizing compared to DD which is mostly kung-fu vigilantism. I think there's, like, one and a half fight in JJ, so you're gonna have to be invsted in the plot or the characters. Both Cage and Jones can drag too, unfortunately.

I almost fell asleep the moment Luke and Danny both appeared onscreen at the same time.
That kind of absence of charisma hasn't been witnessed in the MCU since the pilot of Agents of Shield.

But I'm weak and I'll watch the first couple of episodes regardless of course.

Personally, I wouldn't really trust NeoGaf's opinion on anything, given that we have a hyperbolic tendency as a community either to praise a piece of entertainment as the "GOAT" or dismiss it as "trash" or "garbage", with very little subjective criticism in between.

Luke Cage and Jessica Jones got overwhelmingly positive reviews. They're also very, very different shows, both in comparison to Daredevil and each other. At the very least, I would suggest you try sampling the first episodes of each series (starting with Jessica Jones first, which takes place before Cage) to see if either series is more your thing. Then if you enjoy it, you can keep going. If not, at the very least you'll have developed a rudimentary understanding of the characters going into The Defenders.

Both shows do suffer from the same kind of bagginess that Daredevil had, but for myself and many other people, they're both worth it for the overall entertainment value. That's just my opinion though!

1) I don't know how anyone could've finished DD S2 and think Elektra wasn't going to be on Defenders, so I don't get the complaints.

2) Fuck yes Stick kicking everybody to get their shit together, that's what I wanted.

Only watched S1 of DD liked it enough need to catch up

I think you watched the best Marvel TV offered so far. It's been downhil ever since.
This doesn't look all that great either. But maybe it's just a poor trailer. We'll see.

I'm incredibly stoked for The Punisher (Steve Lightfoot...need I say moe ?).

If we see Thanos entering a hallway in Infinity War we'll know we'll get our Daredevil cameo.

Man, Thanos is gonna be walking into a building, he will step up next to a dimly lit hallway with the lights flickering. He'll look down that hallway and take 1 step towards it.
we will all look like a giddy spongebob knowing what's about to happen next....
Then Thanos will sense the danger, and change his mind and walk away from the hallway.

The Defenders will have missed their cameo opportunity.
Thanos will know better than to walk down any narrow hallways or stairwells.

What's with these shows and hallway fights

I skipped JJ, LC, IF and the second half of DD2, but I might watch an episode and see what's what.

This looks neat

Can't wait to see Luke and JJ's fight scenes with proper choreography. The action in their respective shows was trash.

Guess I'll try and sit through Luke Cage and Iron Fist to be caught up. This looks promising, but I'll withhold judgement till I watch it.

Well, they're relatively cheap to film, that's probably why.

Second half of DD2 was a bit meh (I dont care much about Elektra), and LC didnt really grab me either. Still very solid series. I think I liked Jessica Jones the most of the bunch, great villain. Still have to see IF.

Dude is vaulting off a fucking wall into a punch he has the hardest part
The rest just go blurp blrup pop, shit all Elektra is doing is just model walkin'
