Marvel’s The Defenders | Official Trailer

Can't wait!

Aside from the upcoming Bendis Defenders series, are there any other books with this roster or at least similar? I know Bendis used them in his New Avengers run but that was just for random issues here and there. Has there been anything else?

I can't stop laughing at this hahaha

Show looks kinda hype though. Still wish for an appearance from a movie char, but I'll take what I can get.

Looking forward to that surprise Tony Stark cameo at the very end of the final episode, that'll be paid as a homage to the first post-credits scene in Iron Man.

Tony: Defenders, huh? You guys think you're the only superheroes in the world? As someone once told me...you've become part of a bigger universe. You just don't know it yet.

Jessica: Who the hell are you?

Tony: (Stepping out of the shadows) Tony Stark. I'm glad we could finally get acquainted.

Danny: ....holy shit.

Tony: I'm here to talk to you about the Avengers Initiative.

THE DEFENDERS WILL RETURN IN AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Season 4 of Agents of SHIELD. And even though it's not MCU, Legion.
You have to go through Shield seasons 1-3 first. Having just finished Legion within the last week, there's definitely some fat towards the end that could've been cut.
They spend too much time in the fake hospital.
But it's definitely the series with the least fat.

Trailer is decent, hopefully Danny is better in this than the half of Iron Fist that I could sit through.

Don't do this to yourself.

Hallways have a better chance of appearing in Infinity War than the defenders do.

Nothing like a website that makes people feel like enlightened deconstructionists in regards to story criticism when in actuality they're just parroting utterly shallow, but easy to memorise catchwords as a means of tearing all forms of storytelling, as opposed to possessing any kind of remotely engaging critical insight or analysis when making sweeping criticisms.

Yep its just like honest trailers, its easier to be pessimistic and negative about entertainment then it is to enjoy or form your own criticisms for most people

What is enjoyable about the hand? I'd like to know because these are the lamest foes in the MCU.

I enjoyed them back when they were Daredevil's mysterious ninja cult, back before they warped into Iron Fist's vaguely evil community outreach programme.

You have to go through Shield seasons 1-3 first.

Season 2 doesn't drag on too long either. Its great. It just managed to be surpassed by season 4.

(Season 1 doesn't "drag on" either. It's the opposite: it starts off slow and ramps up halfway through.)

To be fair, the site reminds you on its home page that TROPES ARE NOT BAD. Too bad idiots insist on ignoring that.

Danny Rand as Scrappy Doo cracks me up, because that's basically what his interactions with Luke and Jessica in the trailer remind me of.

Eh, people on GAF seem to despise Iron Fist but I thought it was better than Luke Cage, and way better than Jessica Jones. So no matter how cynical people may get towards defenders, I will end up loving it. Because it seems to be dropping all the boring parts of those two shows.

I thought Iron Fist was fine, it seemed the most consistent in terms of pacing and episode to episode quality. The major problem is that while it was more consistent it never came close to some of the highs of the the other shows. It also suffered from the villains not being near as interesting as Kingpin, Killgrave, or Cottonmouth.

Defenders looks like it should be a lot of fun, really looking for ward to it.

The Hand stuff in DDS2 I thought was super interesting because they were freaky. The whole draining blood stuff, coming back from the Dead etc. I thought they were creepy and interesting. They were certainly far less compelling in Iron Fist imo.

But I love Elektra. She's just so crazy intense and I think the actress does a great job.

I don't remember. Spoilers?

elektra "died" at the end of DD season 2 but the hand has some sort of blood magic power that can bring you back to life, if your head was not severed.

not only that, but elektra is "black sky" which is something the hand has been trying to acquire, something stick has been trying to destroy (which is why he himself tried to kill elektra).

This hallway meta-commentary is making me laugh like a madman. Thanks, guys.

I think the easiest way to defeat the Defenders is just make a hallway with a conveyor belt floor that constantly moves backwards faster than they can move forwards. Thank me later super villains of Marvel.

So, what you're saying...is they should get some kinda...infinity...hallway? Whoa

Lmao the hallway comments. Thought it looked decent, I enjoyed Luke Cage and Daredevil, the other two not so much. Going to watch it for sure, I'm curious to find out what they are going to do besides hallfights.

The hallfights are pretty fun and look really good. How do other superhero series deliver in the action department?

Netflix Marvel, the only superhero shows at the moment that I just can't force myself to watch. Will try an episode or two. Hope I can stick with it longer then I did with JJ, LC or IF. Daredevil has been the sole redeeming series of this Netflix universe.
