That's a lot of comic issues just for "lol we're rebooting the Marvel series." :/
Yeah.Someone else had to see the little life raft in the hole of U. Reed's bubble city, right? While he's talking about theft. There are 2 rafts. U. Reed and the Cabal are still around.
I know that feeling, bro.Holy shit guys, I feel so fucking sad after that issue. I expected a lot of shit, but not this. I never expected this.
But there were so many people in the announcement thread that were angrily adamant that this wasn't a reboot...

It's already leagues better than Convergence!
What the hell is wrong with you people. The UU is the best. ;_; What was wrong with it?

Man... some observations
- Lol the Punisher. Guy goes out with a bang.
- Damn all of the kills
- Star Lord? Guess they'll say they need a reliable space adventuerer or something like that.
- Spider-Man is always the luckiest guy
Weird. Rage of Ultron and All-New, All-Different Avengers didn't look like a rebooted universe.
I'd really wait for the series to end to proclaim this is one because right now, every piece of post-SW material points to it not being one.
Coming to this conclusion now is like reading only X-Men Alpha and saying "welp, they're rebooting the X-Men".

Thinking I'm about to go out and pick up Secret Wars #1 but maybe I shouldn't jump in?.Depends on what you lack.
If you know half of those characters you gonna have no trouble reading Secret Wars with the summary.
If you know nearly nobody then you gonna have a hard time following.
It's already leagues better than Convergence!
If no one remembers Secret Wars or what happened during it...then I'll proclaim it a reboot.
"here's the status quo, no one remembers what happens but are going to pretend this is how things always are" = reboot.
Not quite. CBR gave it 3/5, though the score is a little confusing as the text could certainly be described as "gushing," for the most part
Thinking I'm about to go out and pick up Secret Wars #1 but maybe I shouldn't jump in?.
I've only really read Annhilation but didn't finish the epilogue since the parts of heralds comics were missing on Unlimited so that turned me off from finishing it off and reading Richies comics. I read Secret Wars #0 but wasnt familiar with any of the Future Foundation.
If Miles Morales (or Ultimate Nick Fury) was there all along it might as well be a new universe. If no one remembers Secret Wars or what happened during it...then I'll proclaim it a reboot.

So, Secret Wars, then.
Huh.
So much for that, I guess. Back to waiting for the Age of Ultron trailer.
Secret Wars of who?
Oh well.
This announcement is wasted on me
Someone said that's from something else called Avengers station. I have no idea what that is.
Oh.
Well.
So.. that's it?
-_____-
People still give a shit about Secret Wars?
Hahahaha. XD
There's a lot of disappointment to go around.
biggest announcement of 2014 which 0.01% of your current audience cares about.
So this is a new movie? Or a continuation of the comic series?
I don't know anything about what you mentioned.
Oh, and here I thought it would be something people cared about.
Edit: I*
Welp, that's what I get for blowing my load too early. I am so unsatisfied right now.
Kudos to the comics loves I guess.
Female thor was ten times bigger news than this. How could they possibly consider this the biggest announcement of 2014?
Meh... there goes the hype train.
Man, I am amazed how much Convergence sucks. Like 4 issues in right, and nothing has happened.
What the hell is wrong with you people. The UU is the best. ;_; What was wrong with it?
As someone who really only got into DC after New 52-none of it means anything to me.
I know that feeling, bro.
It's gonna be okay. Maybe.
If Miles Morales (or Ultimate Nick Fury) was there all along it might as well be a new universe.
That's the thing. Those issues directly referenced a lot (and in the case of ultron forever, truckloads) from Marvel's pre-SW issues. Which is why he said it the way he did.
If your phrasing is correct I'm gonna have to disagree because by that rationale, AoA was one and X-Men Prime ushered in a new continuity. I think most X-Men readers would disagree with these statements. If no one remembers Secret Wars or what happened during it...then I'll proclaim it a reboot.
As someone who only really follows newer, non-big-event Marvel titles (Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Spider-Gwen, and Rocket Raccoon for now), that Ms. Marvel #16 cover feels so sad. I'm excited that she'll have a spot in the All-New, All-Different Avengers, but I'll miss when she was just the small-time protector of Jersey City.
I don't think you have a lot to be worried about. The FCBD issue feels like older Avengers are mentoring the younger heroes in ANAD. Kamala, Miles, and Sam probably aren't fighting Kang any time soon.

What I'm curious about is how she explains it to her parents. She has a hard enough time keeping her normal superheroing from them. What does she do when the Avenger symbol lights up the night sky?
Yea yea comics don't think about it...

Are we still trying to name her? Also speaking of the new Avengers Femthor needs to beat it.
What's this about a Rabbi named Abdul?
The confusion, the disappointment and the bitterness.
It was glorious. Granted it lasted for two pages, but it was good. Link
It's way more likely, since NYCC is the more comics focused of the two major comic-cons by a fair amount, that this announcement is regarding a publishing matter, and will likely be announcing that the entire Marvel Universe is going to be Nu52'd.
Oh shit. I had forgotten about that.Spider Manspent more time with Reed Richard's wife and kids than Reed did. Spider Man was an adopted member of the family. I can't imagine what this is going to do to Peter if they indeed died.

Is Hickman off the Avengers books after this is over?
List of people that spend more time with Reed's family than Reed:
Pete
Vic
Ben
Johnny
Namor
Tchalla
The Moleman
Yay. (His stuff just falls completely flat for me.)Yes. No more Marvel comics from him for a good long while.
Done, about to head to my local comic shop after my gym session.I mean its really hard to follow all of those characters. In different styles, different clothes etc. So you will always have problems knowing who is who. But that shouldnt be a problem since Secret Wars #1 has a "Who is Who" page in it.
Also i cant say it enough about how good the summary from OP is.
Go buy it. Its probably one of the best Marvel Events.

There are normal books running.as far as I understand, thats all the Marvel comics available during all this. There are no "normal" books
That was a damn fine issue but I'm much more concerned about how this is going to affect the movies.
