Mass Effect: Andromeda releases Patch 1.05 Thursday, details more changes for future

Additional dialogue? IIRC did cdpr also do that after people were disappointed with the Triss romance in witcher 3.
Unless its a third male romance option (that isn't some shitty minor character with fade to black sex scenes) then it isn't enough. I'm curious what they have done to fix this but it's still utterly stupid that they implemented gay male romances as a damn afterthought.

So the first stuff is coming this thursday? Seems like they was working on this stuff and EA forced them to release it now for them to have this stuff ready already...

This is what's in the Thursday update:

Allowing you to skip ahead when travelling between planets in the galaxy map
Increasing the inventory limits
Improving the appearance of eyes for humans and asari characters
Decreasing the cost of remnant decryption keys and making them more accessible at merchants
Improving localized voice over lip sync
Fixing Ryder’s movements when running in a zig zag pattern
Improving matchmaking and latency in multiplayer

Thanks for the clarification.

The 2 bolded are the biggest immediate concerns which I felt needed fixing but I guess I can wait a few weeks till all the patching is done so I can do a second play through.

This patch and statement is a good start. I have the game and I actually enjoy a lot about it, but like other's, I have my issues with it. A lot of that they seem to be addressing, which makes me happy and optimistic. I think I will shelf the game for a bit though, especially with Persona coming out. I was going to play Persona afterwards, but it seems like I'd benefit from waiting for more patches for Mass Effect, so why not jump into Persona instead?

This all sounds fantastic.

They eyes actually bothered me more than the animations most of the time. If they can get them looking like they did pre release, that will go a long way.

GOTY

seriously surprised people expected more. Funny that they have had to specifically specify the ''my face is tired' conversation
Where? I believe Hainly Abrams is the trans NPC, not the "my face is tired" character

She is the one who weirdly brings up her "dead name".

These are all solid updates. Glad to see they're trying to salvage this mess.

Next update, they really have to fix that inventory/crafting menu. What in the fuck were they even going for?

You... were expecting an update that would go back in time and fix your already-finished playthrough?

I don't why this made me laugh so hard

Good update from Bioware. I'm glad to hear them responding to what seemed to be the most resounding pieces of criticism on both on the technical side and the functional side (clunky transgender/gay romance option implementation).

I'm a huge Mass Effect fan but, much like Final Fantasy XV, will probably wait until some "complete" edition before buying in.

Wow, the sounds awesome. Hopefully they can fix it up nice and good.

Wonder if this will tank the price of retail copies tho.

Allowing you to skip ahead when travelling between planets in the galaxy map

Well there goes half of my play time. Good that they're fixing it but I'm still scratching my head as to how it shipped like that. It's so annoying.

Added option to skip autopilot sequences in the galaxy map
Game changer!

Improved logic, timing, and continuity for relationships and story arcs
Wait, what? I mean... what? I don't get this.

Sad to hear that there aren't any changes to SAM's warnings. He drives you crazy when you are navigating a hazardous planet.

Anyway, great start Bioware. Already enjoyed my time with the game, so this only can get better.

Gaming is weird these days.

I haven't bought yet. I'll be interested to see where this game is in a month or two.

i'm about 16% into the game, Gave up because it was a mess, But i am level 60, have 12 million credits and all the resources i need for crafting due to glitches.

So after the update i might play it and enjoy it more now they have fixed things and i dont need to grind.

How the fuck is at possible? What glitches? Jesus I must be doing something wrong for you to have that many credits.

This was a $60 early access beta they said was complete pretty much based on these patch notes. I'll just wait until its a $20 complete version in 2018 that is properly patched and finished.

Glad to hear about the fixes. I already finished and loved the game, but it certainly could use this attention.

See this is great to hear. I own it but will hold off playing it until it's fully shored. Great to hear from an actual reliable poster that it's "loveable" - there's been so much vitriol, and I'm sure this thread will be full of it too.

Good for them I guess, but does it matter?

I've accepted the game for what it is, poorly veiled fetch quest 9000, and have just been burning through it for the sake of it, I can't imagine any reason why Id start all over with a new character and grind my way through the intergalactic mud again just to take advantage of better CC options and altered dialogue that didn't matter to me anyways.

Pretty good for a Week 1 or 2 patch, given all that's wrong. I wouldn't have expected improvements to animations at all given how massive of a task that must be, and I assume that will continue through the coming months.

They had 5 years and a high budget. This is on Bioware, not EA
I won't get tired of arguing it's on both. EA are the ones that ultimately published it no matter how much time they gave Bioware they released an unfinished game, Bioware are the ones that developed a subpar game within the ample time given to them.

Glad to hear about the fixes. I already finished and loved the game, but it certainly could use this attention.
Should be finished with it tonight myself.

This was more than what I thought they'd do to be honest, so good deal Bioware.

I'm glad they're going to address the underwhelming male/male romance options, but I wish they would of given a bit more detail on exactly what they're planning in that regard. Another romance option? (Preferably a squad mate.) Improved character models? New scenes for existing options? Adjusting the multiple romance trophy/achievement? Etc.

Galaxy map fix coming in hours after I explored the last system to 100%. Beauty.

Actually, to be honest, this is a good start, but I don't think that fixing these issues would have drastically changed my gameplay experience, more just made it feel a little more polished as a first impression.

My main issues with the game, as I near the end, are more related to a gulf between the quality of Priority/Loyalty missions and the rest of the sidequests, which really started to blur together, feel like busy work, and I had a hard time keeping track of. If I completed the multi-phases missions on discovering them, then they felt like a slog with too much travel between planets just to trigger the next part. If I just kind of collected them and completed stages as I was near them, then I had no real memory of what the specific quest I was doing was about (too many missions involving missing people, or scanning a crashed ship or device).

:)
Hopefully the improvements keep coming. I cancelled my preordered after all the bad press but I'm still curious and want more Mass Effect so I'll dip on the version with all the DLC if this trend continues
