Mass Effect Andromeda Will Feature "Full Nudity" & "Softcore Space Porn" - Yongyea

gaf would be so mad if this was a Kojima game
Bioware is not coming up with some plot point bullshit excuse to use a BDSM costume as a default outfit for a female character in their game. They are just adding nudity to their optional romance routes.

There is a difference here.

Bioware has sexuality in their games - it's awkward because its presented with stilted character animations and glassy facial expressions but it's presented as part of human relationships, and pioneeringly is done so with multiple different sexual identity options. it's entirely different from pandering to heterosexual males with slutty outfits and flimsy narrative justifications (and in quiets case, undermining an otherwise great character and backstory)

I don't think any art form should have to avoid nudity when it's addressing sexuality - it's juvenile to try to tiptoe around it.

Looking forward to the usual Bioware facial animations during the sex.

I've never seen these gifs before and they completed floored me.

Well I care. I don't like it.

Well I do. May I?

Yes? It's a discussion board, people are expecting your justification. I'm certainly genuinely interested to know. The North American puritanical allergy to the human body, while at the same time it's embrace of brutal, often sickening levels of violence, is one of the most bizarre phenomena in media.

That's exactly what was missing to make games complete. Full nudity.

This is just... Ugh.

Well I care. I don't like it.

I don't get it. That's not necessarily what games needed to be "complete" (whatever that means), but it's not something that detracts from the quality of the game, is it?
It's hardly the first game to feature full nudity too, I mean, Ballad of Gay Tony was way ahead of this and that's probably not the first one either.
Thing is, some games are trying to tell stories and BioWare likes to include romantic plots in theirs, which, therefore, might involve sexual intercourse. It's part of the social interaction of most living beings.
The thought that games are not allowed to have nudity when everyone praises Game of Thrones despite its gratuitous juxtaposition of titties is completely silly.
If you are bothered by nudity in the game for whatever reason you failed to provide, then I guess you could just not romance anyone? I mean, I'm sure you think romancing fictional characters is just as frivolous...

Can you change breast size when creating your avatar?

I read from Gaf's favourite banned site
Dualshockers
that you can't alter body shape or height so probably no?

Edit: was a quoted tweet from one of the developers

Haha! I had forgotten all about that! Here's the Fox News discussion on the subject for anyone that missed it. It's good entertainment value if you can get past the cringe. You'll also feel sorry for Geoff Keighley talking to a brick wall.

Time for Fox News to start this discussion up again!

This was an amazing watch, thank you.
So much cringe in the video and of course it just had to be Fox!

I mean "sexbox" as a term for a console, jesus.

Geoff has the patience of a Saint lol.

I'm simply not into nudity or sexual stuff in any game. In any sort of media, actually. I find it very cheap and irrelevant. I also don't like watching people getting intimate. It's like I'm peeking at a couple having a private session when I shouldn't be. I'm just... Not interested and adds no value to me.

Edit: I'm OK with romantic stories, but just not interested once they get physical. I usually skip or look elsewhere.

Haha that was great, lots of respect to Geoff for not snapping having to listen to their exagerrated concerns. And as usual, the sex is teh evil and the shooting is barely mentioned.

That's perfectly fine, but you must realize that you are in the minority. Also, I can't take your opinion seriously on this with that actor as your avatar...

I don't know if I'm in a minority or not I never checked :p

And lol yes. I like his humor just not when he gets physical ;)

I wonder if this means we can play the game completely naked with all the debuffs related to it such as increased damage taken and extra environmental damage taken due to having no armor.

But most likely the prudish Americans in the ESRB saw a shadow of a nipple in a 10 second sex scene and slammed Full Nudity on it despite not matching the world's perception of full nudity.

There's no such thing as scientifically right or wrong when it comes to what people should or shouldn't do (sure, science tells us that incest can lead to evolutionary disadvantages in incestuously produced offspring but science can't say whether that's good or bad, science can only say that that's what happens). Pretty much the whole thing is a moral question and morally speaking, if two consenting adults want to have sex with each other, I don't think there's anything wrong with that even if they are closely related so long as they make sure not to produce any offspring.

Maybe we visit a planet where outer clothing is banned and seen as evil?

Well EA does have a history of adding Full Nudity through DLC, case in point The Midnight Show DLC of The Saboteur.

Though I would definitely support the idea of a planet where clothing is banned, maybe a jungle planet filled with naked people where men fear the women due to their aggressive hunt for snu-snu.

What a stupid gimmick, there's rarely a good reason to put sex scenes in. Like, I get that it might be necessary to the plot sometimes, but showing it is always cringeworthy as hell, especially in games with terrible TERRIBLE models and graphical engines.

Absolutely disgraceful

Honestly these game studios should be ashamed of themselves when it comes to crafting female characters, even when they use damn facial capture software they still can't make their characters look good. If a monstrosity like this is what female representation in western games looks like then you might as well give up.

As my old Granny would have said, away and chase yourself.

I'm getting a bit fed up reading complete nonsense like this. There is nothing wrong with Sara Ryder. Nothing at all.

I've said it since day 1 i saw that model that it looks bad. But it's not that bad. Not even remotely close.

At least BW isn't pulling shit out of their asses and making up poor excuses for having something like Quiet in their games. Kojima just makes up shit and can't straight out admit he just wants to sexualize shit out of female characters.
