Mass Effect N7 Day 2013 Thread: Remember, remember, the seventh of November

Started a new trilogy run as an Adept. Still not sure if I'll be able to not switch over to Engineer for ME2 and 3.

Found that actually Sentinel is now my most-played class in ME1, which surprised me. It's a shame I don't really like playing them in ME2 and would never consider playing them in ME3, given the tech armor changes. Still haven't beaten either of those games as anything but an Engineer.

Also playing as a male. It just feels... wrong.

You should try playing as a Vanguard, so much fun zipping towards an enemy and then blasting them at close range.

As its Mass effect day 2013, is there any chance of the DLC going on sale on 360? Wanted to play the ME 3 DLC before I move onto PS4.

Adept is the only way to play 2 and 3.

I'm ready for some ME3 tonight! Re-installed and downloaded everything back onto my 360, and contacted a few buddies who are doing the same.

ME1 is my game of the forever. Nothing like it before, or since.

Great series, great fun. Embrace the cheese and be happy.

I agree they are all great games, even though the majority of us really dislike the crazy ending. But yes the first Mass Effect is a Masterpiece! The sci-fi atmosphere is outstanding!

I hope Mac Walters is one of the people playing multiplayer today.

I'd love to personally tell him how he's the worst writer on the Earth.

I can't take it any more, I need some fucking Mass Effect news. BIOWARE PLEASE.

Aw.

I still remember the day Mass Effect 2 was 'announced' with a website update and a concept art of Illium. That was a nice day.

I disagree, but we'll see how I feel after trying it.

I just love playing an Engineer so, so, so much. It's just fun.

Engineer is fun, but there is just something very nice about making your targets fly with Pull or Singularity and making them go BOOM with a Throw or Warp. Especially with the Biotic Explosion sound effect in ME3.

I go crazy and pick up Defense Drone as my bonus power, so I'm basically a one-man army between my turret, Drone and Defense Drone. Love the feeling of just dominating the battlefield.

Adept/Vanguard/Sentinel with biotic explosion optimized running with Liara and Kaiden melts EVERYTHING. Even Praetorians in the Armax arena on insane.

Anyway, ME3 had hands down the best combat sandbox. Those chain tech explosions are good too. It is too bad the was story was damaged and turned off a lot of people.

Now I'm in the mood for another playthrough of ME2. Even though I hate the main plot, it's my favorite ME to play to completion.

That weird artist who made the pictures in the OP leaked another piece, I don't understand how it fits the big picture though

If the DLC for ME2/ME3 would ever fucking go on sale on PC i would do a another play through but apparently bioware refuses to put them on sale.

I like it better in 2 to be honest, in ME3 it's just silly because even throw will set off explosions and most enemies don't have armor or shields. You can just spam 1 second cooldown powers and never use your weapon. Adept in ME1 is also broken, get singularity on Liara and yourself and faceroll the game.

Let's also pour one out for Jack Wall & Sam Hulick, ME1 OST is still fuckawesome.

Suicide Run is also epic.

I'll admit that ME1 is very dated now and the gameplay(and Mako) aren't that fun, but what the Bioware artists have done with the environment, atmosphere and music still pulls me back in.

Here's hoping they can somewhat do the same job with next-gen Mass Effect. The music in ME2 and ME3 was never quite as memorable. I can only remember a few of them, like the Suicide Mission or Mars.

Yet people complain that ME2 and ME3 are too much like third person shooters. People complained in ME2 that global cooldown was a bad idea and too long wait between powers. Give them a class that doesn't rely on guns and make the cooldowns very short in ME3, and some people are still not happy.

I never knew what was the issue with the Mako controls, on my PC it plays perfectly.

You never had trouble driving it in a straight line whenever you hit the slightest obstacle or bump on the ground? Everytime I do(and i play on PC), my Mako goes all over the place.
Let's not mention trying to climb a mountain on those barren planets.... *shudder*. They should have put the ME2 vehicule in this game, at least it can jump very high and move very fast, mountains would have been a joke.

Nope.
While it can react weird sometimes, its no more difficult than driving an off-road vehicle.

But I see you are looking for a fight Krogan!
Mako vs Hammerhead

This is the only series where I've played all the main sequels and loved them all. Favorite new IP of the generation for me.

Mass Effect, the best thing coming out of this generation.

Mac Walters the worst thing coming out of this generation.

Through the Wreckage!

And one big up to Drew Karpyshyn.

The ME1 crew is still the best ME crew.

Well I don't speak for everyone :P I think the general consensus is that ME3 has the best combat. I don't know anyone besides myself who prefers ME2 in that regard.

I never had any problems myself, but both my friend and my brother were atrociously bad at driving it. So I guess it's common.

Anyway, loved the first ME. I often listen to Faunts' "M4 Part II".

Ugh. I think I'm going to not reinstall it this year. After Citadel I finally kicked the habit of replaying these shitty games constantly. I really, really don't want to start my 17th run of ME2 ;_;

I think I will play ME3, though. The gameplay is actually fun in that one.
