Yeah engineer is the best class in 3 for sure. Especially with the cryo, fire and tech explosions. The engineer absolutely dominated one the explosions glitches were fixed.

Turrets, drones, incinerate, overload BOOM

I'm novenD, and this is my favorite thread on Neogaf.

I don't think the first Mass Effect is one of the best games of this gen, but I do think it's one of the best experiences, if that makes any sense. I should probably replay it.
 
Mass Effect 2 is still one of my favorite games this last generation. The series as a whole is probably the best thing to happen to gamers in terms of storytelling. I really commend Bioware for the glossary they included in each game. It means I don't have to read a book to get what's going on.
 
Leave it to Eat Children to make fantastic ME threads. Haven't popped in ME3 to play the MP in ages but will do so today. Got all the achievements in ME1 (over 300 hrs) and ME2. Still missing the last 2 DLC for ME3 plus an Insanity run which was in progress. Hopefully the DLC's go on sale soon. Think I still love ME1 archaic mechanics and all but ME3 has the most fun combat. I do miss the heavy weapons from ME2; particularly the Arc Projector which was awesome.
 
I guess I will jump in for some ME3 multiplayer. Really wish I had a Javelin X. Would go well with my geth infiltrator.
 
Really would have been nice to actually give us something, like a dlc sale. I've been wanting to rebuy the whole trilogy+dlc for PC after selling my 360, but it's hard to justify at full price--almost might as well just rebuy the Xbox at that point.

Nonetheless, yay Mass Effect! Hate you Mac Walters! Can't wait to see what's next!
 
Is anyone else having problems with getting connection to the EA servers? It seems to be stuck in the "communicating..." phase. PS3/Europe here.



EDIT: Fuuuuu... it seems the PSN maintenance is the reason, although I've signed on to the PSN yesterday. I thought it should prevent any problems with accessing online play?
The European PSN maintenance will run from 2pm GMT on Thursday November 7 until 1am GMT on Friday November 8. In the US, the maintenance is scheduled to take place on Thursday between 8am and 3pm Pacific Time.

But don't forget the real meaning of N7 Day, GAF. Nowadays we tend to bury N7 Day beneath consumerism. The Shepard might be not real, but he is making kids, gamers and gaffers around the world happy. The Shepard and his Normandy which is led by his nine crew members through the toughest intergalactic storm. It's the spirit of N7 Day which is important and the never ending story of calibration and love.
But what is the real meaning, you may ask yourself. Is it the birth of Mass Effect? Is it the presents, merchandise or the sales at the BioWare shop? Maybe the day was just invented by EA to make more money. No those are not the reasons why we celebrate this day.
The real meaning of N7 Day is: Playing. Playing and celebrating the play. It's all about the game and everyone playing. The world would be a much better place if everyone would play in peace and harmony. That's what you should remember next time, when you see it's November 7th.

Probably planned a year in advance. Do new games come out on Tues. like they do in the US?

Screenshots never sold me on ME1 at all until I played a friends copy, once I actually sat down and gave it a chance I fell in love with it, and still enjoy the first game a LOT, great stuff.

The second ME was alright, more action based, some good pieces to the story and I like the characters, Happy about some oldies returning.

ME3... I own the CE but only played the multiplayer, I don't want to sour my love for the game by playing ME3.
 
Some things never change. Logged in to play a quick round of coop today on PS3 and bumped into a group of Rocket Glitchers in my first game lol.

I did manage to host a Platinum game with 3 clean randoms though, two were basically speed bumps in the match but the last guy who joined kept up with me fairly well.

Drell Infiltrator + Black Widow is still wrecking things after all this time.

Could be. For me I liked maybe the first third of ME3. Then it went bad. And that ending was just the icing on the cake (huge icing though). Honestly, I wish I hadn't played the third game.
 
Mass Effect 2 has to be one of the best games of all time. Of all time. I wish the ME3 dlc would go on sale, feel like I've been waiting for the last two packs forever.

Some other random tidbits:
-I must have watched the this tv spot for the original ME 1000 times.
-Must have watched this ME2 launch trailer a million times.
-After finishing ME1 I immediately went on a renegade run. Thus, the angry adventures of femshep were born.
-Favorite piece of fan art. Guy got a job with Bioware if I'm not mistaken.

Logged onto the multi on pc and got my free pack there fine, but then logged onto the Xbox multi and there isn't one there. Is there only one per account as a whole or isn't it supposed to be per-platform?
 
I feel like time has healed the wound and I'm ready to replay Mass Effect 3, but then I think about the $40 of DLC I still don't have and change my mind. Help me out, Bioware, for old times' sake.

Leviathan - yes, expands on the Reaper origins significantly. Cool settings, planet-hopping story.
Omega - no unless you reallly like Aria and shooting.
Citadel - yes, huge dollops of fan-service, features every surviving squadmate
