Matterfall - E3 2017 trailer

Could they have put out a lower quality video? That compression is something awful.

Not sure what to think about it. I'm super hype for Nex Machina though.

Clear camera perspective like Resogun + 60fps. Now hopefully platform/colour switching while shooting doesn't make me all fingers and thumbs.

The PlayStation YouTube upload's 1080p60 at least.

Absolutely, it's not like they were pushed for time.

Yeah kinda strange conference this year to be honest, they could have showed more titles like Materfall and dropped a sentence or two on new stuff like The Inpatient. Why limit yourself to 60 minutes?? It's not like they didn't have enough material to show.

This will top the $100 for the $15 back really well. Crash + Everybody´s Golf + Matterfall. I´ll buy some random avatar too to be safe.

It's a day 1 purchase because it's Housemarque but I'm not really hyped for it. Very curious though.

I'm much more excited for Nex Machina and that's due to the high score/leaderboards nature of it.

+ Blu-ray release by SIE Europe! If they'd throw a fully patched copy of Resogun on there, I'd be in for sure.

Greetings, PlayStation fans! We at XDev Studio Europe are excited to finally show you the first glimpse Matterfall, from Housemarque, the masters of arcade action. And we also have a launch date for you: Matterfall is releasing 16th August on both PlayStation Store and Blu-ray!
https://blog.eu.playstation.com/201...tick-shooter-matterfall-releases-16th-august/

If you've played Super Stardust, Resogun or Alienation, you can guess at a few of the things Matterfall has in store: lightning-fast twin stick action, nerve-racking challenges and explosions. Epic explosions, to be more precise. But Matterfall also throws a few new ingredients into the mix...

With a combination of shooting and platforming, the gameplay relies on your control over Smart Matter, a mysterious alien resource that infected the world and threatens to wipe out mankind. Using your Matter Jet to generate Blue Matter, you will be able to create platforms to further explore the environment, or form shields to protect yourself while fighting off hordes of enemies in a frenetic bullet hell.

It wouldn't be a Housemarque game if the challenge wasn't turned up to 11, but it is always a fair fight. Avalon Darrow, the hero in charge of saving humanity, has at her disposal a great variety of weapons and powerful abilities, allowing you to choose your loadout and customise your style of play. Whether it's the short range of a powerful shotgun or the calculated bounce of a grenade launcher, anything goes!

Pre-order Matterfall today and receive a theme for your PS4 and a kick-ass soundtrack when the game launches. You'll also receive a voucher for an avatar pack after check out. And if you happen to be at E3, swing by the PlayStation booth where you can get your hands on the game and fight for the best score of the event.

Keep an eye on PlayStation.Blog for more details on Matterfall soon.

Housemarque's own channel. Uploads it at 720p. Whatcha doing there bros.

Looks nice, classic Housemarque.

Probably because everytime they've gone long folks start to fade because its late in the busiest day of E3.

The weird thing to me is the way these pressers are rated in isolation, whereas they realistically need viewing in conjunction with whatever else each provider is offering both on the floor at the show and broadcast to the internet over its duration.

Throwing all your eggs into the one basket might be a way to get some cheap promotion for "putting on the best show", but if these pressers were the be-all and end-all of the endeavour, why would anyone bother doing anything else?

Hopefully we get some unedited footage for a better idea how a level flows.

Looks nice, but also rather slow in the trailer. Would like to see more official (and uninterrupted) footage, preferably a skilled player going through a sizeable portion of a level.

This looks great! I've always appreciated Housemarque for their talent, but stuff like Resogun just isn't for me. But I love platformers, so this may be the first Housemarque game that I really get into.

Loved what I saw but I expected some monster voxels to fight... like in the old trailer. :/

Hopefully those kind of enemies are still in.

Somehow, i expected something completely different and felt a bit underwhelmed upon viewing the trailer. I'm starting to think that Outland, with it's unique and lovely art direction and atmosphere, was something that happened accidentally at Housemarque... Not saying their games look bad but they seem so proud of their voxel technology and the amount of things it can display on screen at once, that most of their recent games looks similar art direction wise.

That being said, gameplay wise, it looks like a lot of fun and for that reason, i'm still onboard for a day one purchase. I hope to see some more media and publicity around this game soon though because it will have a very short period between official (gameplay) reveal and release. I look forward to a proper gameplay walkthrough.

I get Velocity 2x vibes from it. A little dodgy, hyper looking for 2D, but I love Housemarque games and when the missile hell starts barreling down on the player character, I can get a sense of how fun that will be.

Looking fan-freaking-tastic as expected. They really should upload higher bitrate footage to their official channel though lol.

At the end of the youtube video it says pre-order now, but then it doesn't say what platforms it's for. What's up with people not showing platforms in their trailers, seems like kind of an important piece of information.

Very short line for this at E3. Tight, fast, intense gameplay. Would love more time with it because the controls were overwhelming for a short stint.

Getting it Day 1.

Ok, just watched the gameplay video and it looks like a lot of fun gameplay wise. I love these type of games so this will be a day one purchase.

Man this year has been packed. We're getting Nex Machina in 6 days and then this in August, when will we have a downtime to relax lol.

Just saw the IGN footage nice graphics but looks boring kinda like the Strider remake, which bored me quite quickly. Maybe its warming up? Now i'd love to see Factor 5 create a next gen Turrican using 2.5d graphics.
