Mayweather Vs Pacquiao to cost $99.99

What's the usual price on these matches? That's crazy for something that can last 2 rounds if there's a good punch landed.

People citing the wwe model are hilarious. The ppv model was dying for wwe because they were pushing a mediocre product and asking people to pay $60 every month for it. Same thing te UFC is facing. Mayweather has yet to have a problem attracting buyers once or twice a year when he puts on his ppvs and this fight will be no exception. They will get more buys than UFC of wwe could ever dream of so why change their business model? WWE and UFC's problems weren't ppv problems, they were and are mediocre/oversaturation problems.

lmao at theses bozos thinking they can charge $99.99 for a boxing match in 2015. I was going to go to the bar or something to watch but I don't even want to do that now. What a fucking joke.

That's a lot of money to watch Pacquiao get handled.
We already knew this price was going to be expensive as fuck though.

Money gonna Money

I guess you aren't the market for the PPV anyways considering you weren't going to pay for it regardless. The people that were planning on buying this fight already knew it was going to be more expensive than others, and an extra $10 or $20 won't stop 99% of them.

How come there are no fighters like Mike Tyson/Lennox Lewis anymore? Why do people care so much about these puny guys?

Tell me you can honestly recognize any of the top 10 Heavyweight fighter besides the Klitschkos.

Deontay Wilder is the best American on that list and I haven't seen any mainstream coverage of him or his boxing on ESPN.

These "puny guys" are the most excitement boxing has had since the days of Mike Tyson.

PPV isn't dying, it's just that people aren't going to pay for an inferior product. UFC had a terrible year last year, but this year? Jones-Cormier did 800k+, Ronda-Zangano did over 500K, and Diaz-Silva did close to 700k.

If you have a big match (which Mayweather-Pacquiao is probably the biggest possible boxing match possible right now), people will buy it.

Because these puny guys are some of the best fighters in their weight class in the history of boxing. People of all sizes can throw punches. Sorry that there isn't a once in a generation heavy weight fighter to take on the klitschkos right now. I'll have to settle for an undefeated baby face mayweather.

I bet there aren't all that many people who would pay $65 for a boxing PPV that wouldn't also pay $99 for this one. I sure as hell never would, but I also wouldn't even pay $20 to see the fight so I'm not the target audience. It would have been a lot easier to squeeze the money out of people when this fight was mainstream relevant before Pacquiao lost twice in a row, but they won't be hurting for buys.

Before I end up splitting this PPV with friends I want to know what the undercard is going to be.

That'll ultimately make my decision for me.

That's fair. Most of the undercard has been posted in this thread. I'm in for Mayweather Pacquiao. Better late than never.

So much value!

Are they still pimping their service between matches like a cheap whore?
Price and all? How did Wrestlemania even do numbers wise. The difference between these singular fights and something like WWE is that promotions are handled on a per fight basis by different groups so it's not really fair to compare.

Wow. Boxing still that popular eh? Seems like they are really marketing to bars and group get togethers cuz who else would pay this

Showtime and HBO are both partnering to promote this iirc on top of Mayweather's promotions. Mayweather might have trouble reading, but the dude can sell a fight like a motherfucker.

Wonder what they charge a bar to broadcast this? Legitimately I mean. It used to be thousands of dollars for bars to have the WWE PPVs.

I'm sure plenty just order that shit for 100 bucks and turn it on for everyone but I believe that's illegal in some sense. Although I imagine nobody ever gets busted for that unless you're a huge chain like BW3's or something.
