As opposed to a company that has already seen most of its many businesses hit the gutter? One company is still hugely profitable, the other is consistently making a loss.

I don't have an allegiance to either company, but just thought your post should be put in to better context.

Probably because you're basing it off your experience of Kinect 1.0 and know nothing about what they're planning. Kinect 2.0 will be more of a mature technology and hopefully Microsoft will see the benefit of opening up apps/games to take advantage of it.
