Wow. DS sales sure fell off. I guess that's what happens when you near 30 million systems sold though.
It has more to do that nothing was released for DS the last 4 weeks. DQ VI will boost its sales again for a period.

PSP at over 14 million is incredible for a second place system. It should probably pass the GBA overall.

DQVI DS has hit a million shipped a lot faster than IV & V DS which is to be expected. It could do as well as V PS2.

Famitsu
[NDS] Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen (Square Enix) - 601.737 / 1.214.610 - 49,54%
[NDS] Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (Square Enix) - 679.442 / 1.190.404 - 57,08%

Media Create
[NDS] Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen (Square Enix) - 597.301 / 1.288.085 - 46,37%
[NDS] Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (Square Enix) - 643.764 / 1.237.125 - 52,04%

If DQVI first week/LTD ratio follows the pattern of IV and V we should expect a LTD which will double its first week sales. Personally, since this is the first remake of VI, I expect a better ratio than this.

Where is Wii Relax?

That's not been announced as far as I'm aware (wasn't it just rumourmongering based on a trademark?), which would suggest - if it *does* exist as a game, of course - that it's one they're sitting on for a big E3 reveal or something.

With new Pokemon releasing this year for DS have we now finally passed the point that DS2 is coming this year? (just saw neo article)

Some talk after MGS PW delay.

I like that the 3/18 madness (MGS PW, Gumdam Assault, Fate RPG, Yakuza 4) with lots of other big games the week before and after that one (Namaikida 3, Multi Raid 2, Hokuto Musou...) is somewhat fixed with MGS delay, which was (most likely) going to be the biggest of them. Fate was delayed too, but no new date.

And its not like MGS loses since its now PSP main (and only so far) weapon for Golden Week (its releasing on Wednesday so its there).

Still a March-lets-pack-every-game-we-have-so-we-can-meet-our-fiscal-year-estimates, but less so.

Also Kirby! :lol Seriously, what's up with that title? Could Kirby possibly be that Nintendo Dream title they hinted at?

Its like Nintendos own release-list running gag. I don´t believe it will ever come out.

Who am I kidding: Fingers crossed for a Q1/Q2 release date

I WANT XENOBLADE NEWS NOW!
The article mentioned it will be the sequel of a popular franchise. Xenoblade must be a sequel to Xenosaga to meet these standards but then again I doubt Xenosaga is anymore a popular franchise.

Actually this is usual. Media Create and Famitsu have a 38k difference (nothing very important and will be close in the long run) and Dengeki like always is overtracking.

Sinobi said not to get too excited with this announcement. If he really knew that this was Xenosaga Episode IV I don't think he would make a statement like that. Kirby Wii or Mario Party 9 look like more possible.

Maybe I'm looking into this too much. We will know in three weeks.

But Xenoblade is not going to be Xenosaga EpIV. It's going to be Xenoblade!!!!!

I love the way Dengeki thinks more copies were sold than Famitsu believes actually exist.

About next DS million sellers. These are the old titles that have a chance to become non-games.

28/12/08 031 [NDS] Cooking Navi (Nintendo) - 117.332 / 948.817
01/03/09 032 [NDS] Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Level 5) - 119.816 / 945.841
28/12/08 033 [NDS] Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day (Nintendo) - 106.310 / 939.125
28/12/08 034 [NDS] The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo) - 288.282 / 902.386
01/03/09 035 [NDS] Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (Level 5) - 307.771 / 880.330
27/12/09 036 [NDS] Style Savvy (Nintendo) - 86.446 / 879.427
27/12/09 037 [NDS] Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel (Level 5) - 360.778 / 842.617

Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a sure bet. It may already be there when we get top 500.
Next two Laytons aren't dead yet. We will have a good idea for Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box legs from top 500.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass unless it got a boost from Spirit Tracks is out of the game.
Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day is almost sure that will join the club if not this year then next.
Cooking Navi is the same case with Zelda.
Style Savvy seems to have slowed down a bit and remains a question.

So it is

30 million sellers already
+Professor Layton and the Curious Village
+Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day
+Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reviere
+Ni no Kuni: The Another World
+New yearly million seller from Nintendo
+Mario Party DS 2 (?)
+Inazuma Eleven 3 (?)

Square Enix could have another million seller this year but so far they have really dropped the ball with DS after DQ VI.

Famicom holds the record with 42 million sellers but isn't anymore unbeatable like some years ago.
+Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2
+New Pokemon

Square Enix finally listened to me about Joker 2 :p
DS taking the crown from Famicom looks more possible every day.

Well, I wonder if it's a case of S-E finally deciding to do Joker 2 now (highly unlikely), or simply that they started development after the US/Europe releases, and the project took about 2+ years (which seems normal for most RPGs, regardless of team size or platform). Since development is finally wrapping up, they're able to announce it now.

I just wanted to note that the 360 number in the OP is off by one (going by Spiegel's post). I know it would drive some of you insane when you would notice a teeny weeny inaccuracy in your database.

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but i have a friend going to Japan next month, and was wondering if the FF13 PS3 Lightning bundle can still be found? Also what are the general prices for it. She wont go looking in a million shops for it, but will check a couple in arkihabara. So are they still readily available, or will they be in a momths time, and how much are they in Yen?

Thanks.

I managed to copy wrong PS3 and DSi LL (by 10k) and 360 (by 1).

10.000 (or 2->3)
10.000 (or 2->3)
1 (or 3->4)

This must have happened for a reason, it can't be lucky.

10.000 -> The Last Story
Two RPGs with potentially higher sales from Metroid: Other M (threads created by duckroll)

1 -> Metroid: Other M game with lower sales from the previous two (thread created by kagari)

Don't take this seriously
