I think people who would bite remake of PS2 game with dat price are ones who won't hesitate to migrate to PS4.

BTW 95K is already 10K above the original's LTD.

Yes, but Star Ocean is not a huge franchise and the public on PS4 seems to be a bit more focused on western titles than usual. In games with Vita releases, the Vita will pick up the slack, but I'm not sure how will it go with SO5 since there is no Vita version... Maybe there are still many PS3-Vita users that will choose Vita given the opportunity and that reflects on the small sales of the PS3 versions.

Star Ocean is a far bigger franchise than Odin Sphere... that's for sure.

One have also to consider that Star Ocean 5 is not a niche release as Odin Sphere can be considered - on that department, PS4 might have more problems in covering the sales a PS3 in good shape could have brought.

Good hold HW wise, but I'd say that PS4 is the best one in the start of the year (context-wise).
PS3 is becoming useless in terms of SW imho.

This is a good sign that the ps3 is finally dying and the transition towards other platforms is finally happening in Japan.
Obviously, it's not entirely good news, but it's time to drop the ps3.

I said this in the other thread, but they put some marketing muscle behind this one. They've had displays for the game front & centre at department stores in every mall for weeks now. They must have known they could carve out a niche for it. (That said, those same kiosks didn't do much for #FE).

I'm pretty sure that if #FE was on PS4 and PSV , it would've made the sales that Odin Sphere made.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir had museum exhibits and cooking shows. Good for it, good for Vanillaware games, and good for Atlus' partnership with Vanillaware.

Microsoft got ninety nine problems but its the Xbox One?

Anyway, PS4 having a pretty decent hold it seems. Splatoon and SMM still roughly in sync with Wii U sales, though Splatoon is still taking a bit to completely overtake Mario Kart 8 (not much longer though).

Star Ocean 4 did over 150k first week on the Xbox 360.
I think Star Ocean 5 will be fine on the PS4.

Yes, but Star Ocean is not a huge franchise and the public on PS4 seems to be a bit more focused on western titles than usual. In games with Vita releases, the Vita will pick up the slack, but I'm not sure how will it go with SO5 since there is no Vita version... Maybe there are still many PS3-Vita users that will choose Vita given the opportunity and that reflects on the small sales of the PS3 versions.
