Did Japan give up on soccer or something?

Yo-kai Watch outperforming everything except Layton:

Yeah, bad numbers for soccer games... and damn, that drop for Inazuma Eleven is real bad. No idea GO Galaxy underperformed like that.

But pretty good news for Youkai Watch, I hope Level-5 won't get greedy. Makes me wonder what that mysterious game mentionned in the CoroCoro magazine actually is.

By the way, has Spike-Chunsoft finally sent some new copies for Attack on Titan or what?

May I take the opportunity to ask where I can find December's results?

There's a bunch of different Gundam games and I admit I'm not savvy about which are the good ones, so to be honest I just wrote down a number quickly not to let the field blank :p I gather you're right though, I'll edit it, thanks for the tip ;)

Erm what did I just watch?
Dem boobs everywhere.
Yeah, this game is never coming to west.

I think it's already out in English. But if it isn't, they've already gone through alpha testing and have put up an official site. So I don't see why they wouldn't bring it to western PS4s at this rate

Yes I realize Saints Row would become somewhat more popular due to the increase for GTA, but 80% first-day sell-through is still really good.

Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light is now the 3rd highest grossing app on the JP App Store.

I don't know how much it is making, but historically P&D has gotten in the $3-4 million a day range up in spot #1.

So, it's been a day since this came out and it's already the third top grossing app in the Japanese app store:
RBKmsIM.png

Been playing a bit more and I still really like it.

Also, the Line Slime game KiTA linked to is really fun, I actually started playing the iOS version the other day and it's probably one of the best arcade-like games on iOS I've played.

Welp, if not DQXI now we at least know where other future DQ games will go.

Yeah without raw numbers it's hard to say how well it is faring, but the signs look positive. I actually wonder how DQM2 remake will do. I have a feeling it'll not do as well as Terry's Wonderland 3D simply because I thought that over-performed for a remake.

Interested in seeing how it'll continue.

However, right now, "traditional" DQ games will be on consoles, said Horii. Smartphones will be for ports + simpler experiences.

I think this game is a good argument for designing smartphone games for smartphones instead of porting them.

If it's still high up in a month will be the main test, but still.

If you know the user who posts the results, it is easier to search in his post history...

A little help for others like you:

Sales in the same amount of weeks for the prediction:

[PS3] Gundam Extreme VS. - 432k

[3DS] Dragon Quest Monsters - 673k

[WII] Donkey Kong Returns - 331k
[3DS] Donkey Kong Returns 3D - 131k

[WII] Wii Party U - 147k

[PS3] Yakuza Kenzan - 220k
[PSP] Kurohyou Yakuza - 183k

Note: first week for Yakuza Ishin will be only 2 days, instead of the more common 4 days.

And next-gen hardware launches (all 2 days):

3DS - 371k
Vita - 321k
Wii U - 309k

Yeah, after I posted I searched into your post history but apparently you could not make it so far; sorry if I sounded a little pushy, but I have been looking forward to those results, if anything because I feel I have done not too bad this time around :D

No problem with asking, especially when I really should have already posted them...

Well the worst is that they can design DQ XI from the get go as mobile game, but for now let us hope that they continue with this business model.

Hey, Chris, do you see this having the same legs as Run for the Money or is this raise just a 1 time thing?

I read that on January 5, 2014 they aired a new episode of Run For Money Tousouchuu, that might be an explanation for its strong post-holiday performance.

Code:
October 2013

[3DS] Battle For Money Sentouchuu: Densetsu no Shinobi no Survival Battle! <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.10.17} - 62.444 / NEW

November 2013

[3DS] Battle For Money Sentouchuu: Densetsu no Shinobi no Survival Battle! <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.10.17} - 40.533 / 102.977 (-35%)

December 2013

[3DS] Battle For Money Sentouchuu: Densetsu no Shinobi no Survival Battle! <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.10.17} - 91.941 / 194.918 (+127%)

January 2014

[3DS] Battle For Money Sentouchuu: Densetsu no Shinobi no Survival Battle! <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.10.17} - 75.291 / 270.209 (-18%)

Comparison, week 14:

Sorry late, but yes they aired new episodes of Run - and Battle for Money on 01.05 and 01.12 respectively, so the raise is from that.
No new dates for the next episodes announced yet.

Run for Money is still the main show so I don't really expect Battle for Money to do as well.

Can't find the number anymore, so I'm not so certain anymore, but I was pretty sure I read KH was Squeenix's most successful game in NA for the PS2 era or something like that.

As I recall, this is a primary reason Nomura's statue inside SE continued to rise; he seemed to have the magical touch to attract the Western audience that so many Japanese game designers seem to lack.

Of course, that ability seems to have evaporated, but at the time his global appeal seemed vital.

Unless I'm mistaking your point for something else, I would say that arguably his work post-KH2 being relegated to handhelds has probably had a big impact on its western visibility.

Frankly it's the most bizarre part of it taking SE this many years (with more still pending for a new entry) to get KH back onto console, given how much the west was a factor in the brand's success, compared to FF.
