I think SE needs to rethink not releasing DQ on the Switch, low Install Base or not it does not seem to stop popular games from selling well on the platform

Awesome week! Wish we could see more like this where all (living) consoles are doing fantastic. Dragon Quest really is a force in Japan.

That's gotta be one of the best non holiday hardware weeks in a while. Weird circumstances (juggernauts released for 3 consoles across 2 weeks) but still! I'll take it!

The likelihood of Switch owners owning a 3DS or PS4 is quite high...and both of those systems did get DQXI this week - the fact that those Zelda sales are keeping constant is quite impressive. There will be enough weeks for Zelda sales to rise again....the DQXI launch week is not one of them, there is just so much time/money people can spend per week.

Guys these threads have prediction stuff every month. We are talking about people being wrong about them. I don't understand how it is a derail. It is just funny how some were jumping at the dude for predicting 1 million for PS4 version.

Feels like it. They've not talked or acknowledged it since that original statement that it was coming. Not the one they took back but the second one I think. No word on what it looks like, which version it's based on, etc. Nothing. Then again there has been nothing else from Square Enix proper announced for the Switch save fro Dragon Quest X which is a port that was on the Wii and Wii U. At this point I would assume nothing is coming while SE continues to be all in on the PS4.

Someone made a prediction, others told him he's going to be wrong. Turns out the prediction was wrong after all. I'm not sure what you're doing tbh.

Pretty standard for MMOs these days and probably the smart thing for a game on a handheld device that could be easily lost or stolen.

Some very nice tables. Switch line touching the 3DS line and PS4 distancing itself from PS3 are nice developments.

This was brought up in the other thread and I'm confused how it is being presented. The guy being presented as 'owning MC thread people' was literally wrong, it's under a million? And anyone adding bullshit like 'it's only two days' and 'plus digital' should realise those factors would also inflate all other games' launches/sales if applied, to varying degrees.

142k consoles sold, that's incredible for a system 6 years in its lifespan. Not only I was expecting half that number, but I also thought PS4 would overtake it. It's really a system in a different universe.

Judging by their public, official apology a few weeks ago, I think we can assume increased supply to some extent is here to stay.

I think he means that games usually have 4 days or tracking. Does Dragon Quest games usually launch on Saturdays? Or did we have the release date back in April?

He predicted 1 million OW on PS4, which didn't happen. It's not really a great post to go back and point at to say how wrong GAF is all the time.

I asked something similar, but it seems we just have to wait and see. They could've bumped production, but watching these next couple of weeks should give an indicator
