Preorders of Legacy Edition were 4 times the preorders of Normal Edition for Infinite Warfare.

From Japanese blogs it seems Nintendo won't be chary with Pokemon shipment (except for double pack apparently). There shouldn't be supply problems.

--------------------

As commented before, Monster Hunter Double Cross pre-orders were huge. Stores, of course, gave it some space on shelves, even more than usual for reservations of this kind, so it seems they expect great sales for the game.

At Santy Shop, the Animal Crossing amiibo cards are totally sold-out. No news about new shipments yet.

...and everything is prepared for this!

Nintendo Classic Mini ~30k shipment!?*

So less than 30k for PS4 Pro? Guess that means +60k total sales (all models) for PS4 this week?

That's quite good! I wonder where MHG will end up at.

From Japanese blogs it seems Nintendo won't be chary with Pokemon shipment (except for double pack apparently). There shouldn't be supply problems.

Would be crazy for them to undership Pokémon Sun and Moon, as unless they went mental with 3m copies for Day 1, there's very little risk of overshipping (especially with holiday period starting soon).

Looks like consoles are really holding back Dead Rising, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry and Resident Evil sales in Japan.
And that handhelds are holding back Monster Hunter in the west :p Seriously though, this is because decrease in popularity of the franchises.

I wouldn't mind playing Devil May Cry and Resident Evil on my 3DS. I guess it is time for Capcom to make a "switch".

This industry needs a stim pack injection. I hope with PS4P and Switch it gets back up. At least MonHun and Pokemon will help there

So a year ago, Square Enix shared a list of their hit mobile games. These consisted of (listed chronologically):

1.) Sangokushi Rumble
2.) Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light
3.) Schoolgirl Strikers
4.) Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (DeNA)
5.) Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur
6.) Mobius Final Fantasy
7.) Kingdom Hearts Unchained X
8.) Final Fantasy Grandmasters
9.) Dragon Quest of the Stars
10.) Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius

In the list they released a few days ago, things are basically the same, except for the following adjustments:
- Sangokushi Rumble and Final Fantasy Grandmasters are no longer considered top titles.
- Grimms Note is now considered a top title.

On the one hand, the stability of their line-up is quite encouraging. Of the two titles that fell off, one was the oldest game on the list (and thus featured the oldest design paradigms), and the other was rather experimental.

On the other hand, they added two of their absolute biggest hits (perhaps their two biggest mobile games ever) in the first half of last year, and have so far added zero this year.

Akashic Re:cords and Guardian Codex just came out, and they've relaunched Final Fantasy Legends with a new title. I'm not expecting too much out of any of those, and Guardian Codex in particular I would expect to tank.

I would say we'll probably have to wait until Q4 to see a new potential major hit with Dissidia. Star Ocean will be out before then, but I'm not holding my breath there. I'll assess Bravely Default once they actually unveil it. Bravely Archive actually did quite well for what it was, and had very good user acquisition, so I think a better product has a real shot at success. Flame x Blaze is not the kind of product built to succeed from a top grossing charts perspective, similar to Vainglory, so I'd be surprised if it made much movement there. King's Knight also seems like a joke product to get Business Division 2 used to working on mobile, so I'm ignoring that one for now.

That said, Square Enix has averaged 2-3 lasting mobile hits per year, so if Dissidia and Bravely Default pan out, or some other product surprisingly succeeds, they would still be on track in terms of line-up growth. Their revenue itself is still growing just based on their existing titles becoming progressively more popular.

One more mobile update:

I recall someone posted about something bravely related tease in one of the past thread... here it is
https://twitter.com/BDFE_OFFICIAL
square-ish logo design + closed beta plan = most likely mobile

edit: famitsu confirmed it's mobile lol. cbt seems for android only

zeromcd has confirmed that this is listed as being made by Silicon Studio itself.

This is notable because Bravely Archive (the previous game) is not listed on their website as a product they developed, and I don't see that implied in any other articles either.

We'll have to see the staff list, but this might be the next major game from the Bravely Default team.

I wouldn't count on it. :p

Hey, some of these Gatcha Games have 40-60+ staff!

Square Enix was going on recently about how their Gatcha Game budgets are starting to meet or exceed their handheld game development costs, and that's before we even get to post launch service.

Obviously not all of them though.

Silicon Studio has hundreds of staff though. Doesn't mean jack shit.

I guess my perspective is more that I think you're overestimating their ability to get a notable console or handheld project going at this point.

What? No, I'm just saying the chance of the actual BD team working on this is pretty low, just like how the chance of the SO5 team working on tri-Ace's upcoming SO mobile game is pretty low. I never said anything about effort, that's all you. :p

I think it's also plausible they might have dissolved that group into multiple projects.

Most of Silicon's staff is not actually game development, but Middleware.

Their actual game development staff doesn't seem especially large given their output, and they just released their new Fantasica game from some of their social staff. They've historically put out about one social game a year.

This will be the first time a home console will have 2 SKUs tracked seperately.

edit. So far there will be 3 early reports from Famitsu for the rest of the year

1. 2DS, PS4 Slim and likely Persona 5
2. PS4 Pro
3. Pokemon Sun / Moon

1. Nope
2. ?
3. The only sure so far

Oooo mod fight up in here...

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the core team on it but we would probably have to see the actual game first.

Huh didn't notice it before, but Famitsu has PS4 YTD 2016 > 2015 already.

Also is there going to be any bundles or LE's or pricedrops for the 3ds around Pokemon's launch. I know in the States Nintendo are dropping the price of the n3DS. jw

It's funny how Square are still interested in developing Bravely games, and yet the sequel got the budget of a reductive indie game, despite being the follow up to one of their biggest hits in recent history.

I can see they releasing Bravely Third for NX, but under what budget? Why are they even bothering with the series if they don't want it to be big? Maybe this new game is another low cost project? But then again, I thought Square were done with low profile games?

This company is a mess.

I doubt most of the Bravely Default/Second team is working on this mobile game. Interesting how it's this studio on it though, maybe will keep the franchise more relevant than the previous spin-offs.

Capcom shipped 2.7m in Japan.
So ~1.4m for the west.

So more than SFV in the west? :p
