Media Create Sales: Week 45, 2016 (Nov 07 - Nov 13)

I don't think people will buy a console (resulting in HW boost) other than for FFXV.
It'll go back to ~30k as usual.

I doubt it. By the time Gundam, FFXV, and Yakuza are out we'll be a week or two out from the normal holiday bumps. Gundam probably won't do much, but numbers will still be bloated as it's the week after Pro. Both FFXV and Yakuza have bundles to help hardware along. Then, looking at last year (Which had nothing worth mentioning in the software side after week 47), PS4 had a slight uptick from week 49 on through the first weeks of 2016. So yeah, back to 30k this year, I doubt it. But we'll see. Underperforming is a habit here.

Does anybody have numbers for Fate/Extra and Fate/Extra CCC?

Extella is a different genre but it is ultimately a sequel and follow-up to those.

I guess that's pretty good for a Fate game, no?

Marvelous was projecting 170k+ total for the game. Depending on how you count the Velber Box, they hit that week 1. Of course, Fate games typically have horrible legs, so they were going to need a strong debut.

Otherwise, didn't even know Beyblade was still around lol. That Saiki game seems to have done pretty poorly.

There's a new set of kids born every couple of years that won't have a collection of battling tops. That game is based off the current series aimed at the kids, but Beyblade is now trying to do the Digimon dual-audience thing with a bunch of nostalgia product (including a bar ...).

As for Saiki, well, the game looks like your typical no budget 3D Bandai Namco licensed game. I'd be more concerned for Appmon (#prayforappmon).

Holiday boost mostly benefits family-friendly consoles. For the PS4, it's New Year you should be looking forward to.

Looks like Bamco is the loser of the First Kids Licenced Games War of 2016:

03./00. [3DS] PriPara Mezameyo! Megami no Dress Design # <ETC> (Takara Tomy) {2016.11.10} (¥5.400) - 28.865 / NEW
07./00. [3DS] Beyblade Burst <ACT> (FuRyu) {2016.11.10} (¥5.780) - 16.516 / NEW
20./00. [3DS] Saiki Kusuo no Ψ Nan: Shijou Ψ Dai no Ψ Nan!? <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) {2016.11.10} (¥5.700) - 3.519 / NEW

Looking at Famitsu data, PriPara seems stable.

Totally available at some Sofmap. I guess it's close though, and people preparing for Sukiyaki after all.

If my calculations are right, there should be about 16 000 units left. But yeah, Sukiyaki did quite a number on sales (which already were a bit on the weak side). And I guess anticipation for Pokémon SM is eclipsing everything kids-focused for now.

I'll never understand the popularity of anything Fate beyond Fate/Zero.
1) Cool setting and premise.
2) Interesting and well developed characters (well, they were for the most part on FSN, FHA and Fate/Zero...)
3) They reward their audience for paying attention to even the most mundane minutia in their games by making references and callbacks that most of the time only the most dedicated will get making people feel that they are "in".
4) The fights scenes are just incredible cool to watch/watch.

At least those are the reason I love the Fate series and most of Type-Moon works for that matter...
except that Illya show that can rot in the 9th circle of hell.

both are MC numbers

Wow. Extella sold the same just on Vita that the previous two games sold just on PSP; let alone the PS4 SKU of Extella.

As for Saiki, well, the game looks like your typical no budget 3D Bandai Namco licensed game. I'd be more concerned for Appmon (#prayforappmon).

Agree, but sometimes these no-budget licenced games have runaway sales success. That 7 Deadly Sins game from last year seemed to do well. There was another one on 3DS that I can't remember.

I mean, equally they have bombas on Vita too (Mission Memento Mori; that SRPG based on the vampire anime that I'm forgetting the name of).

I just recognised this anime as one of the more popular ones I think? The character was in J-Stars Victory Vs. at least :p

Sony made it pretty clear that PS4 and Pro are going to be treated like the same one console... as IMO it should be.

Don't understand why some expected something else or demand it?

There should be global numbers and details like it's the case for the 3DS family.

Because it's an alternate configuration selling for a higher price and those typically get tracked independently. There are no games exclusive to the 3DS XL, Vita TV, PSP go, etc. yet their specific numbers were carried by MC.

The problem with Extella is that if they make a second one it's going to have the patented Musou drop.

Depends really I think.
There is a shit ton they could improve off this game.
And lots of other Musou games are just retellings of the source material's stories or no real story whatsoever.

Hey guys, long time no see around these threads. Upcoming Switch launch has me reinterested in making comparison images that don't cut off at the end of 2012, so I'm working on a bit of a Garaph update. Nothing live on the site yet, but I've gathered hundreds of Nintendo system/software shipment data points from their quarterly consolidated_sales_ files. Thanks to things like the spreadsheets linked to in the OP, filling in Japanese weekly hardware for the last few years should not be a big problem. Individual software is probably more of a bother than I'm interested in right now.

What I've got the least lead on are Sony/MS shipments. Does the official word on PS4 get any better than this turd? No regional splits? As for Xbone, I see not even Wikipedia tries to source a shipment number past 2014.

Nintendo 3DS - Road to 22 millions

- LTD Sales = 21 413 336
- Units left = 586 664
- Week left = 7 weeks
- Needs = 83 809 units / week (going to be real close).

Looking at sales this week, looks like last week's bump was indeed both public holiday + Pokémon anticipation. Oh, and 3DS still tracking ahead of 2015 sales (weekly, not LTD). Curious to see what will happen from next week.

Also, 2DS is most definitely going to top 100 000 units next week. Most definitely the 3DS model to look out for, as it's Pokémon is the first major release it's getting.

Amazing PS4 sales this week.
Pro did much better than I expected, don't know why Sony is asking japanese gamers 10.000 yen more than it should cost there.
With FFXV and Yakuza 6 coming soon 2016 will be a great year for PS4 in Japan.

I will make a prediction league for Final Fantasy XV launch week.

Final Fantasy XV will also be included in the December's prediction league.

By the way, World of Final Fantasy pitiful performance shows how irrelevant Final Fantasy is becoming compared to what it used to be. Had this very same game been released during PS2 or even peak PSP era it would have easily sold over 500,000 units, or probably even closer to 1 million.

I have no doubts that on PSP it would be on par with the rest of big Square Enix titles like Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy Type-0 or Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (~700,000 - 800,000 range).

Even something like Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings sold over 500,000 units too.

It's not going to make a big difference. The game comes out at Tuesday, that's 6 days of tracking for the week and it will be even more frontloaded.

The way SE is treating and having success with it, it is more of a mobile franchise now that cashes on the nostalgic of fans.

Of course someone with a Neptunia avatar would say that...

I'll keep saying it until Apocrypha gets an anime!

I mean, at least /zero's anime is good.

More on topic: I'm happy that Fate/Extella is doing well, I've actually heard a lot of good things about the gameplay. I'm not a fan of musous but I was going to get it just because it's getting an official localization. It's like an unicorn.

2016 will be best year for PS4 in Japan. The down side is it probably won't sell 2 million units in the year. It's a very sad state for console in Japan.

To be fair last time home console sold 2 million units or more in a year in Japan was 2008 (Wii) so it's not like this is new phenomenon.

Is it safe to assume that FFXV release week will be the PS4 hardware's best week in its entire lifetime?

Guess there's also DQXI but it's going to be multiplat so...

But that Atelier game is a HUGE flop, holy shit. Franchise over?

I didn't even notice it was missing until someone mentioned it earlier.

While I'm sure franchise burnout has something to do with it, the lack of legs seems more attributable to the fact that they released a buggy mess on both consoles.

I don't see why Gust are pushing out so much content at once when the quality is really suffering for it. This is November; Nights of Azure 2 in December and Blue Reflection in March. Slow the fuck down Gust and actually polish the games you're releasing.

Can't wait to see the state of the Vita version of NoA2 *eyeroll*
