Strong Monster Hunter X launch and great hardware sales bump, I don't think I will adjust my prediction. It won't have any trouble exceeding initial Capcom's forecast of 2.5 million units before fiscal year ending March 31, 2016.

I guess it will be revised up during the next quarter financial results.

I'm assuming it's this direction as the game is free 2 play and this they want as much recognition as possible before they release it.

Download cards do, that's why you'll see a lower number from Media Create.

Download codes sold as products are counted. Direct purchase from e-store isn't.

Edit: Beaten and the media create statement is right too.

I think it's rather smart move to avoid "devaluing" of the product. Capcom was once burned by that (OG MH3).

In the end MHX shipment was smaller than 4G, despite what some early reports were telling, but it proved to not be enough.

I agree here and i still feel that some f2p game are missing out here by not making the retail version here like shironeko project, hortensia saga, and grandblue game.

Hortensia especially had crazily nice story for a mobile game, hell it is even dark as characters dies in the story which is something i never thought i would ever see. If only Sega would give the game a chance.

MHX is huge - I guess 2m would have not been out of reach if more stock had been available? Funny how it's not even a mainline entry. Hw effect is also nice - shows how 3DS is still the market-leading platform despite its age and installed base. It'll be a Nintendo-Xmas as usual.

It's not being well recieved, really wouldn't expect them to make it public again.

They didn't make it unlisted, it's always been. The video was posted on their official blog (Nintendo Topics), and pretty much all embeds on Nintendo's website are set to unlisted (most likely to avoid flooding their YouTube channel when they upload a dozen of short gameplay clips for a game's official website, for example).

Is it F2P? Oh... I guess the mobile game is.
Curious to see how they're going to handle the 3DS game, other than just "no microtransactions". I doubt it'll be Free 2 Play.

I had a feeling that the 3DS HW boost was going to be a little higher than expected after last weeks small spike but even this is huge. MH is such a big HW mover; even Portable 3rd, as late as it was in the PSP lifespan, gave it its highest HW week. Impressive sales for MHX as well, especially considering that's basically all that was shipped. Next coming weeks should be strong if shipment keeps up.

One thing to note about 3DS HW sales is that on the same day, it had:

- the New Nintendo 3DS XL bundle with MHX
- 4 New Nintendo 3DS Packs (with no game, but cover plates and stuff), including one for MHX.

Looks like the N3DS Packs might have had a bigger impact on sales than expected? They certainly contributed at least, though I'm expecting those to sell more closer to Christmas.

Guess we'll see when we have Media Create sales number.

Might be because the N3DS does nothing for ORAS. With MHX, you get not only faster loading times (mostly when launching the game), but better performances overall, the second stick for camera. Players have reason to upgrade, which they didn't really with Pokémon last year.

ORAS on N3DS is exactly the same as ORAS on 3DS, at least from what I've seen. Not even 3D everywhere, doing something like Hyrule Warriors Legends (3D only on N3DS, 2D on 3DS).

Very good MHX sales!

Eventhough that its not called MH5, its seems to get the full threatment (hardware bundle, demo, big commercial push). As long as the core gameplay is what people know and love, the "subtitle" doesnt seem to matter much. Its the same with Call of Duty and Assassins Creed, no need to call it 'CoD 11' and 'AC 7', as long as the games are being pushed at the next installment in the serie, people will recognize that. I wonder what Capcom will do further on regarding the naming.
