At least the shortages are helping something. It's a great game and maybe we can see it getting to 50k Ltd.This could also be a sign that whatever Wii U hw has remained on shelves is purchased from Japanese.

YSO predictions
01. [PSV] Kan Colle Kai < 240k (average 180k)
02. [PS4] Attack on Titan < 65k (average 60k)
03. [PS4] Street Fighter V < 60k (average 50k)
00. [3DS] Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games < 50k (average 45k)
___
00. [PS4/PSV/PS3] Attack on Titan < 130k (average 110k)
Seems like there is some uncertainty in the Kan Colle prediction. That makes sense because of this game's history. The rest of the releases will be pretty low to no surprise of anyone paying attention, however I find it surprising that YSO thinks Attack on Titan will sell the highest on ps4. One release I do wonder about is Setsuna. Will it be a success even if it sells less than 50k or are they counting on sales in the west? Everything I've seen of it looked great so I hope it does well.

I guess you could consider this...
...YSO dropping the bombs!
I'll see myself out.
If you compare to COMG pre-orders it is a bit of a weird conclusion but, then, it may well be that PSV is over represented and PS4 is under represented. Different SKU/editions and such can easily skew such low volume projections/
3 bombs at once, but AoT still higher than Hyrue Warriors (now to see the real sales...)
There isn't third bomb in this list.

Thats because 6 SKUs are only available in smaller numbers and only at certain stores isnt it? 4 of them i Sony store and 2 of them in Capcom's online store?Street Fighter having 8 SKUs but in reality only 2 doing numbers is really something.
There is always 90% digital if things don't go well at retail.
I'm suspicious it's being primed to be sold as a Child of Light-esque $20 or $30 downloadable game in the West, but if not, I don't imagine it will do much there either.Seems like there is some uncertainty in the Kan Colle prediction. I don't think there's much of a market for this kind of thing in Japan anymore.
You mean 2D fighting games or Street Fighter specifically?

I would say it's more an estimate of how much decline there would be versus how much thier expectations have declined.I haven't followed SFV outside Japan and I can't say if it will hit or miss Capcom forecast for FY but since many are so sure the game will do fine in west hype must be big.
50K for SFV would put it between SoulCalibur V [40K] and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 [62K]
I think the biggest launch for a recent fighting game has been Persona 4 Arena [128K] thanks to the Persona branding. Very sad market.

These are terrible numbers, what the hell. Tekken 3 sold 8.3m worldwide back in the day, 1.4m in Japan alone. What happened?
Amongst other factors I'd say the fact that fighting games aren't suited to portables has been a factor holding them back in Japan. It's not due to a lack of trying either; Tekken, Dead or Alive Soul Calibur and Street Fighter have all had pretty high quality portable releases. They just haven't resonated.
Smash Bros is a bit of an exception though.
With 2DS coming out next week and whoever want to buy it holding back and Vita having these releases and a bundle we could see a big difference between the two at hardware.
This isn't really a new thing, though. They've been trying to siphon over the Vita userbase to PS4 since at least TGS 2014 when they announced things like Senran Kagura/Ys as PS4 games and then just threw in a sly mention that they were also coming to Vita at the end of the announcement videos.
I expect it throughout whatever life Vita has left, too, despite the fact that many of these games will continue to sell better on Vita.
I'm pretty sure the Kancolle bundle is Sony Store-only.
The thing is that they had no problem acknowledging DQB was on all three. Kind of a weird change to make so fast.
Kan Colle bundle, like DQB, isn't Sony store.
Sony announced there will be a limited edition Kancolle Kai themed PlayStation Vita system which will be sold at the Sony Store.

I've been thinking about the NX/Pokken/Namco/Smash Bros/Soul Calibur a lot lately and I kind of wonder if Namco Bandai could revive the series with a bunch of Nintendo crossovers.
Link did a lot for SC II but that was over a decade ago.

That's because that's where the audience for a Minecraft clone would be, so you talk about the Vita along with the rest.

Like Street Fighter IV launched to 849K units in NPD alone which, when we compare what Western games actually end up shipping compared to their NPD performance, is a really large number.
They could feasibly debut at like 300-350K for the debut NPD month at retail and get to 2 million shipped based on past trends for other games, unless it's a very US stacked title. Mind, this would involve a lot of channel stuffing.
I wouldn't blame someone for thinking they might fall apart even worse than that. It's not without precedent and Capcom is in the gutter right now.
This has been my forecast exactly, I can see the 2 million target achieved with a 300K in US, but only if Steam players jump in big. SteamSpy will be useful to have an idea before the next NPD.

the market is "just a little" changed since 1997-1998....
Here is a list of fighting game made in 1998, just for the record :
The King of Fighters '98
Soul Calibur
Street Fighter Zero 3
Marvel vs. Capcom
Ehrgeiz
The Last Blade 2
Fatal Fury 2
Guilty Gear
Tech Romancer
