Nintendo’s website confirms that Mega Man X is making its way to the North American 3DS eShop this week. Starting tomorrow, if you have a New 3DS, you’ll be able to purchase the classic title.

Here’s an overview:

“Hundreds of years after his death, Dr. Light’s final creation is discovered. Released from his capsule by Dr. Cain, ‘X’ is born into the world of the future where robot rebellions are a thing of the past. But when Dr. Cain tries to implement Dr. Light’s designs into a new series of Reploids, something goes horribly wrong. Now, the future lies on the brink of destruction and X must use all of his newfound powers and abilities to hunt down the maverick Reploids and their leader, Sigma, before the human race is wiped from the planet!”

EU is getting promos if you buy multiple new 3DS VC games not if you own WiiU version though.

I didn't like that remake. Not because it's 2.5D, but because they made a bunch of arbitrary changes to the level designs, and item and enemy placements. I'll also take the 16-bit spritework over the low poly, low-quality 3D models any day.

I'm not angry. I just disagree that it's superior. Playing as Vile is cool though.

My main gripe with that version is the use of weapons. Every single time I use Shotgun Ice, he'll shout the name every time as well. It's very annoying.

Honestly, I wish the Vile mode had become its own separate game. The whole weapon select system that Vile had was pretty cool, and it deserved something more interesting than poorly cropped levels that existed for ages.

It's been possible to emulate specialty chips on VC for a while now (though it did take the Wii U for X3 to finally come out). Everyone has agreed that the reason why Super FX/2-powered games aren't on VC isn't because of any power insufficiency.

The purchase of the n3DS was worth it if only for instant access to a portable SNES library. I missed out on a ton of games and it's been legit to be able to easily get them on the system. I've really been debating buying the whole library incrementally so I can have all the best games at my whim whenever I want. I only have MM7 & DKC3 at because I never got to play those, but I can see myself buying a new SNES game here and there when I get the hankering for one and maybe build a whole library on the system.

The game looks like shit

And X yelling his weapon names everytime he uses them is annoying as shit.

It's the entire Japan catalogue, which there is no reason why the whole thing won't come to NA. I'm hoping for more in the future, like Mario RPG, but I suspect that won't happen :/
