The new UK OXM came through my door today, aswell as the 10/10 Bioshock review, there was an E3 reflection on Halo 3.

I thought it was typical OXM bull journalism when they talked about 4 player online co-op, but it seems they were right.

Incidently they give an idication as to what players 3 and 4 will be playing as, I dont know how to post spoilers here so I'll leave it unless someone posts a how-to.

Also mentioned an anti-elephant for multiplayer but I'll not say anything about that either yet.

if you cant figure it out, quote someone using the spoiler tags in their post and all will become clear

must have this info!

Ok I was pretty down on Halo3 but this definitely puts it back in my top 5 this year. I just simply can't resist Co-Op.

Insomniac you should be taking notes for Resistance 2!

But how would the game play exactly if you had marines? They aren't equipped with the same sort of regenerating shield that the Chief has. Could they introduce more Spartans?

i hope we get a screenshot, even if its seirra 117 again, on b.net featuring 4 players :O

This news actually sucks... all this means is that Bungie scaled back the SP game to accomodate everyone who was outraged the game wasn't going to have online coOp. Shorten this distance, break that area off into it's own smaller level, Ok sweet, Online CoOp isn't crashing anymore. It was worth it, right? The fans seem to be happy, and what they don't know won't hurt them.

Of course I'm joking, but then a part of me still wonders...

Replace "shield" with "health" like every other game with regenerating health, problem solved.

Having more than one Spartan has never been an issue: See Halo 1 & 2.

They've made it EXTREMELY clear that no feature that compromised the experience would be implemented. I have full faith that this mode will have no negative bearing on the quality of the game.

GAME OF THE MOTHER****ING EVAR

Good god, this game goes so far beyond the other Halos it's not even funny. Bungie is at the very top of the game here.

All this time I thought 4P co-op was a pipe dream, that it would never happen and there was no point in hoping for it. It'll be very interesting to see how this works; I have always been fine with 2P co-op and struggled to see the point for throwing in two more players, but hey, if Bungie can make it work then more power to 'em. They've earned my trust like no other developer.

*faints*
Halo 3 appears to be much, much larger and more open than Halo 1 and Halo 2 were. One of the screenshots shows the Chief, Aribiter and over half a dozen Marines trudging through the jungle in a rom. More room to play.

Uh, don't you remember what Co-op was like in the last 2 games?

edit: Beaten

True, I hadn't considered the health thing. But it would seem a bit odd for players three and four to take on the role of Spartans if player two isn't. At least in my eyes.

It's worth mentioning that the reason Bungie has given for why online co-op was so hard to implement is the size of the levels and encounters. Frank specifically mentioned a situation where you could have players nearly a mile apart in seperate battles - and then said if they couldn't make it work properly, they wouldn't ship it.

In other words, the reason it was so damn hard to get working is because the campaign is so huge - not that they nerfed the Campaign for the co-op.

I said I was *mostly* staying out. I had signed out and everything. And like Al Pachino in The Godfather Part III, Bungie pulls me right the **** back in.

I wish I could quit you. Okay, not really.

Can't you and Luke just call Frankie for me, and let me on to the boat? :P

Was this chick wearing gloves when she went into the tanning booth?

Since it looks like they are in a dance studio she probably has that adhesive white powder stuff on her hands to maintain friction on the bars.

Very realistic are music videos these days.

How does this actually happen? Aren't there spawn points/regeneration points that will warp one player to an area within the second player in h1/2?
