New screen spotted at HBO in Harold Ryan profile I posted a ways back. Very similar to some on bungie.net, but definately new. I think it's pretty.

is that a spartan standing in the bottom left corner?

It just occured to me that all of the campaign screens so far on bungie.net are from the first level, Sierra 117.

I like the dude way in the back. Until the game comes out, I'm going to pretend its a collectible action figure like in Brave Fencer Musashi.

The marine is wondering why MC keeps taking pics for his myspace profile when he should be fighting.

"OMG guys wait! The lighting here is awesome, this'll look great as my profile pic."
"Oh jesus, not again."

Stinkles, is Bungie planning on releasing a definitive Halo Bible in hardcover form? I would not mind owning an art filled coffee table book with the title "The Definitive Guide to the Halo Universe." Something like the Half Life 2 art book but more of a Halo encyclopedia with craploads of behind the scenes goodness.

I doubt Bungie will ever release the complete Halo Bible, I suspect their next game (and probably all the games they create for quite some time) will be atleast based off the Halo Universe.

:lol he's even doing the infamous 'Myspace angle'.

How will the health of the Arbiter as an NPC be handled? Invincible? Like Gears? Or if he dies he's gone until the next level?

They've come out and said they won't, as some elements of it are never meant to go public.

I just hope for an updated "Art of Halo" book, sometime after Halo 3 ships which is expanded and encompasses the whole trilogy. Love that book.

It'd be awesome if you can take a pic of MC in the "holding the camera at arms length facing me" or "full body shot in mirror with flash on to make it look more obscure." poses.

I am very curious about this. In Halo 2, there were AIs who were just plain invincible (Spec Ops Commander, Johnson).

Or a "Hey look I'm nude in the reflection of this coffee pot" sort of thing.

And would he play more of a support role, hanging back all of the time or will he come forward when he detects you are in trouble?

In the trailer, he seemed pretty aggressive.

I hope they keep the driving ai from Halo 2 and improve it.

I thought I posted in that thread. Oh well, I must have been busy adding people in that thread to my ignore list.

I'm still holding out for Unbreakable Space Twine, but it could be problematic for four player co-op. I'm sure Bungie has it figured out though.

:lol

Arbiter would be even better.

We're recording at 6 p.m. It'll be a couple of dayz before it comes out.
I can't wait.

I usually download all of my podcasts at the same time, Friday night, so I usually don't have any impressions to post, but I'm really enjoying the podcast. I am also anxiously awaiting the first appearance by Marty.

Update to that Eurogamer thing earlier from Lea @ EG:

Ok, just to clarify some facts:

1) That the preview doesn't sound as wellwritten as the previews you are used to from Tom, Kristan etc. is because it was originally a german one. We tried to translate all details from the german preview (2 pages full of text) into english, but due to the language-barrier and my "incompetence" when it comes to halo, there happened some mistakes (actually there was only one!!!) here and there. Ive tried to sort it out today with krudster, thats why some changes were made in the text... Ie: Blame me.

2) Halo 3 doesn't look like Halo 2 (at least not as negative as you make it sound), but this level here gave you a pretty familiar feeling because of its terraint, shape etc. It could have been a map from Halo 2 - that is the conclussion. And yes, the graphics of this level weren't as stunning as the ones from the level shown on the E3 - which also came with the sparse landscape. Nothing really spectaculary, but not bad or something.

3) "Preview with negative sound" - actually it wasn't a negative preview at all. Yes, there was a lack of "big surprises", but on the other hand they didn't mess with the stuff that was great about the game before.

the Bungie podcast has easily escalated to being my favorite podcast since they started doing it again. I'm anxiously looking forward to this week's show. :D

I would do dirty things for a Halo Bible but I doubt we'll see one. With a possible movie eventually on the way, they might want to save information, assets and surprises for the film version.

Now that settles times leaked the pic, it won't be long before it's 720p on b.net.

Bungie tighten up the graphics on level 3!

I ****ing hate the driving ai. The first thing I did after beating Halo 2 is jump back into the last mission on legendary. I hopped in that retarded Warthog clone and half jaw got in the driver's seat. We never made it past the first wave of Ghosts, ****ing half jaw kept ramming into boulders.

Halo 3 shrink ray confirmed! Shrink your enemies and stomp on them for more points!

Jesus, did EG put it's foot in it's mouth yet again? That preview was talking about how barren and empty the landscape was on the highway. Does that sound like at all like a Halo 2 level?

If that's the case why bother 'clarifying' the article then?

Because on the Internet, writers have the luxury of clarifying, revising and fixing mistakes. I absolutely did, and still do when I see a lame comma splice or something else idiotic that I do over at Bungie.net -- sites shouldn't necessarily be scolded for making things more accurate or relevant, it's when they change things to cover something up, that it gets sketchy. In this case with EG, I'd cut 'em a break. There was some rough stuff in translation and they revised it - bam.
