ULTROS!
People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I have a mod which makes FFIX playable. It's called FFVIII.
At least FFVIII's music was much better than IX.

You complain about hitting the F1 key being tedious yet you download and install a mod that only allows you to enter a custom frame rate? Whatever makes you happy, OP.

You're just coming off as an ass nowWho cares? Anything is better than FFIX vanilla. You LIKE that? How? You *like* that 10 second camera pan every battle? Why?

IX's OST was garbage compared to VIII. I can't believe that Uematsu considers that his Magnum Opus.So many people exposing themselves today. smh
How? I asked a legitimate question? It's really, really slow. I asked him how he can like it? How is that being an ass?
He had bad enough taste to compose VIII'sIX's OST was garbage compared to VIII. I can't believe that Uematsu considers that his Magnum Opus.
No she isn't. It's true, that load time is fucking terrible and anything would be better.
10 second camera pan in battle intro. Every single battle. Black screen after the swirl for at least 5 seconds.
Sure sounds fun!
Camera pan can be deactivated in the pc version.10 second camera pan in battle intro. Every single battle. Black screen after the swirl for at least 5 seconds.

I just kind of got used to it over time? Low framerates don't bother me either as long as they're consistently low.
Camera pan can be deactivated in the pc version.
Yeah that's awful.
OP's video is too fast though.

Can this be used on the pc version?Btw, THIS: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2927/ is what makes FFIX playable.
I found FFIX to be just a bit bland/by the numbers after FFVIII & FFVII (two of my favourites), but the mentioned mod/hack also adds a high difficulty level which imo adds just the right amount of spice to the game that I feel was lacking.
The difference is that in town now etc, every purchase matters etc, leveling, equipment, planning. Add that to a reasonably charming world & atmosphere along the way and it can be a pretty solid game. Would recommend if it's been a while though, and you've forgotten enough, as there are a lot of other good games around to demand your time these days.
.Goddamn that's awful.
FFX too. After playing those two games, IX becomes so much more fun in comparison.I have a mod which makes FFIX playable. It's called FFVIII.
VIII's soundtrack is great as music you listen to outside of the game, much better suited there than IX's soundtrack - I agree. But IX's music focuses much more on fitting the world and atmosphere better and that really helps in making IX's world much more immersive than VIII's IMO. As in, it's coherent with what's actually going on in the game instead of overpowering it. Uematsu continued that trend in The Last Story, which some people also consider one of his lesser works, but as a soundtrack meant to be played in-game I think it's one of his greatest.IX's OST was garbage compared to VIII. Looks fine to me ¯\(ツ/¯ why GAF gotta be so rude

Edit: I like FFIX but my favorite FF OST is bar none FFVI, FFVIII, and FFX.

Not a fan of fast forwarding personally as it ruins the pace/immersion for me (a game should have this), if a game requires it then I feel that it's probably the game itself that just isn't for me. Load times I can live with as usually am playing on real hardware.
Anime and movies in 60fps actually looks good, thoThis is the video game equivalent of that "Watch Anime in 60 fps" thing.

I released a mod to set the battle FPS to 24 and the booster speedup to x2 in the FFIX OT as well, but to be fair I still think that's too fast. The reason why I made that mod was because everything looks really choppy when the battle FPS is limited to 15.
To be fair I think the ultimate release of FFIX would have battle FPS on 60, but the actual speed of the battle system and the animations the same (though interpolated so it isn't choppy anymore). Those who think the animations are slow can just speed it up with a x2 booster or something, but anything more is crazy and I would personally play most of the game without booster (yes, I don't mind the 10 second camera pans).
The PC release sucks for other reasons though - I hate literally all of the changes they did to the UI since the PSOne version: it's too large (designed for smartphones and never adapted to PC), it flickers at times (the text balloons), etc. So as it stands, the PSOne version is still my favourite.
Because it's a deliberate effect. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh god. Here we go, a FFIX shitting thread.
To be honest, I think another thing that works in IX's soundtrack's favor is how consistent it is. FFVII and VIII certainly have more tracks that stand out than IX, but both also have a lot of stuff that's not really good. Beyond maybe Zidane and Quina's themes, everything in FFIX is at least good.VIII's soundtrack is great as music you listen to outside of the game, much better suited there than IX's soundtrack - I agree. Now you know how us FFVII folk feel.
You know, aside from the remake and all ¯\_(ツ_/¯
At least the FFVII hate isn't as bad as the FFX hate.
hugs ffx
