Kojima said that he wanted MGS4 to only come in one version.
Basically so his work is 'done' on June 12th.
Obviously being a PS3 game it will have patches, add-on material..etc but the main work is done.

I'm pretty glad that MGS4 is releasing during the summer.

For the most part, summertime sucks for games and you rarely receive a blockbuster with the magnitude of a title like MGS4. I hope this trend starts to change with MGS4. I'd like to have more evenly spread out releases.

The release of MGS4 in June should allow the title to sell well even throughout the holiday months as people pick up PS3s.

I seriously don't see why they'd re-release it. If they want to update parts of it, doing it through online is no problem. The only reason MGS3 Subsistence released was so they could get some experience with an online title

I don't want the Metal Gear Solid saga to end. Make it so, Kojima and remake Metal Gear 1 and 2 with PS3 graphics. Everybody nowadays knows that Big Boss doesn't look like Sean Connery. I've been doing the math and it looks like i'm gonna drop about $300 or so when mgs4 comes out. I'm getting the game, the essentials collection, the ost for each game, some wall posters, twin snakes, both portable ops, and upgrading from 5.1 to 7.1.....this game will be fucking epic!!!

i know how yu feel, this brings back great memories of mgs2. i bought it back when i was gaming mad and had a simple choice buy sons of liberty orbuy my mum a mothers day present(came out same weekend in UK) i went with mgs2.

only reason why i am more excited about this was because when i first came to uni i remember watching the first trailer of the game and when i leave uni it will come time to buy the game ad a ps3, which i have held of doing until the greatest day in this generation of gaming.
