I don't think it's necessary to begin with MGS3. Yes, chronologically its first, but I think the way the story goes and the information you get from MGS1 and MGS2 makes MGS3 better. I don't think playing it first works out so well. MGS3 is a great self-contained story but it does throw you in this situation, whereas MGS1 has a true "beginning of the story" feel.

Yeah, I think MGS1 -> MGS2 -> MGS3 is the best order personally.

But duckroll reminded me that going from PO -> MGS4 would be really non-satisfying and I think a lot of people haven't gone through the games in timeline order to see how it feels, so timeline order it is!

well i'm pleasantly surpised. didn't know about this collection until now, and it just so happened i've been getting re-interested in MGS with 4 just around the corner and looking completely badass.

all three prior games were lost and/or stolen and never finished. so good news all around. i just wish it came with twin snakes rather than the psone MGS. but that wouldn't make sense i know

The craziest thing was when the guy kicked it to demonstrate it could regain its balance. Something like that in bipedal form at about 7-8 feet tall? Pretty spooky to think about...

Ok so here's bit of info I received from my local Gamestop; the employee I talked said that anyone who preordered from Gamestop get a memory card with there purchase.

I don't know if that's just mine or if it's nationwide, but good news for those who don't have a Ps3. I also asked about MGS1 and saving and I was told this version is formated to save to any Ps2 memory card which is even better news.
