play them in order, after you play 3/subsistence you won't be able to go back to 2.

Try best buy in store? They had 3 copies last time I checked.disappeared said:I am having a ridiculously tough time finding this collection. I want it merely for my ever-growing MGS collection, but the fact that it's nowhere to be found now is fucking bananas.

Something you want to know before you enter MGS4: There was a gender translation error when referring to two different people in third person in both MGS 1 and 2, according to how 4 goes down.rhfb said:MGS2 down, under 9 hours total (but that includes the time spent watching the cutscenes), didn't get detected or kill a single thing until I was insideAresnal
Extremely sad thatand the ending kinda didn't really make that much sense, but I guess some of the stranger points get tied up with MGS4/the database?EE and Olga died

It's Konami dude, only way I could get it myself was online at an inflated price.disappeared said:still can't find a single copy anywhere. fucking christ.

Or should we just disconnect the center channel speaker for the Big Shell?
I can not express how much joy and fun the Marine Tanker and rain were.
It's so ironic that the melodrama and feebleness of Big Shell was the real rain on the parade.
Fun to explore, challenging location, great detail, Easter eggs, and cinematics, but pitiful Raiden and train wreck story.
What kind of soldier could possibly be as pitiful as Raiden and not get killed or freeze up at a critical point?
The Fat guy on roller blades? For real? Serious?
I would have feared him more in a rainbow wig and red nose, then at least it would have seemed intentionally ridiculous and less lame.
The Rain on the Tanker was the most advances water effects I had ever seen. (And may still be?)
Never before on PC, Xbox, or anywhere else had rain seemed so real and natural. (Err except for nature)
Even the port of MGS2 to Xbox and PC seemed to not have as much rain effects.
That was the pinnacle of what the Graphics Synthesizer and 4MB eDRAM bandwidth could do.
The GS's textureless shading ability was very impressive, even though otherwise limited.

So I beat the first game on easy(lolz), can I start a new game on hard and overwrite my first play through? The game just starts over and I think it is still on easy.
Babalu. said:Sorry to bump this super old thread, but I've recently bought
Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection
Metal Gear Solid 4
God of War Collection
Demon's Souls
even though I dont have a ps3 yet.
I've only had a 360 and haven't been following ps3 AT ALL. What I was wondering is, which PS3 would I have to get in order to play the metal gear solid collection (backwards compatible with ps1/ps2)?
I'de like a slim but I don't think it has backwards compatibility with ps2 right?
So whats the biggest and newest PS3 that can play old PS1/ps2 games?

You can replace the HDD with a 2.5" SATA 5400RPM HDD of any size. Here's a replacement guide.Babalu. said:Does hard drive size even matter? Can't you just hook up any HDD's you want to ps3?
archnemesis said:There's a used BC PS3 for $350 on eBay. Keep in mind that if the Blu-ray drive fails, you have to pay $150 for a repair. On the other hand you can get a new slim PS3 for $299 and a refurbished PS2 from Gamespot for $49.99.
It saves your inventory from the last loading screen. You cant save your socom until after you exit the airfield with it. Also, you don't really need the gun until you meet Meryl.jeffpm said:Sorry to bump this old thread, but I'm playing MGS 1 for the first time in 10 years or so, and I have a question. I'm playing right after you get off the elevator (beginning of the game), and I acquired the SOCOM and saved the game. Whenever I die and load the save game, I don't have the SOCOM anymore, and I start off near the elevator. Is this supposed to be happening?
Much appreciated!Turk said:It saves your inventory from the last loading screen. You cant save your socom until after you exit the airfield. also you don;t really need the gun until you meet meryl.
