Metroid Prime 4 Switch 2 edition trailer (Nov 4)

TROLL 'HARDER'.

Xeno X remains to this the day my favorite open-world RPG. What a masterpiece. It totally nailed the feeling of exploring a gigantic, unknown world.

Still, Metroid Prime goes for something very different, I am sure it will be a great game.

That's actually great, but is still there any must have titles within this franchise?
Sure, if you have Switch, play Metroid Prime Remastered (3D series), and on the NSO you have Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero that are all excellent games (2D series). Starting with Zero is fine, as it is a remake of the first Metroid and it is not too difficult. Then Super and Fusion.

I would not recommend Dread as a first 2D Metroid, it's far from being as good as the three others I cited.

Day 1 on this. My most hyped game for rest of the year.

Though, trailers look bland as hell. Outdated.

Hopefully it has interesting stuff when I actually play it. If its MP 3.5, will be disappointed. That formula I had enough of.

My one concern is that they've tried to give it Zelda open world adjustment. I'm hoping it's more like Jedi Survivor with the open world and bike, where the whole world is locked behind skills and abilities for progression.

Fuck i thought they cancelled the sw1 version after all this time.
Nah, it's very much a Switch (1) base-game with a Switch 2 upgrade to go alongside it.

It's also targeting 900p at 60fps on the Switch (1), so the large open areas being barebones is not very surprising. But at least it'll (should) be smooth sailing even on Switch (1).

I'm probably gonna wait for the next zelda to buy a sw2 so i'm probably gonna wait to play this one until then.

It already look pretty shitty graphic wise so i can't even imagine how bad it's look on sw1 :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I think it'll look fairly nice, for a Switch game. Outside of the 'open areas' it, naturally, looks very similar to the Metroid Prime Remaster - which imo is one of the best looking games on Switch (1).

But yeah, you'll get 4K, 120fps, better textures, and the works on Switch 2.

I'm glad the pirates can't play the Switch 2 version.

I play on a big 4k oled, 900p is an absolute big no no.

That all looks really good until....

I fuckin' hate the utter shit red suit, bike and bike gameplay especially - WTF were you thinkin', Retro? Good lord. Please don't tell me that we have to use it all the time to travel to other locations and that the game will be semi-open world cuz of this.

I just ordered a new 65" Sony Bravia 8 II to replace my old lg oled and another set of Bose wireless speakers to fill out my surround sound just for this game. :pie_raybans:

Best looking video so far which unfortunately isn't saying much. There's glimmers of excitement here and there for me but I still think the whole desert and motorcycle thing sucks, looks like shit and has "do you even Metroid?" written all over it.

This game went from system seller based on name alone to wait for reviews/impressions. Still hopeful since I'd bite on a Switch 2 for a killer new Prime game but I get a Ninja Gaiden 4 feeling here. I'll wait for you nerds to beat it and post impressions.

people are expecting way too much visially from what is essentially an Xbox 360 game ported to PS4
that is how you should think about this.

this is a Switch game ported to Switch 2.
the Switch is a slightly better Xbox 360, and the Switch 2 is a slightly better PS4. it's the equivalent of Halo 4 on 360 vs Halo 4 on MCC

I don't plan on buying anytime soon. But will see once the game is out, can't see myself paying $70 for a PS2 game in 2025.
Do you guys like to over exaggerate like fucking youtuber?....Please show us a PS2 game that looks like MP4.

Either you blind or have big memory loss what PS2 games used to look like.

There are just mad about sales and Spain betraying them..

Was anyone playing Metroid Prime 1 remastered on Switch 1 and thinking during gameplay that this looks terrible? No? I hope not. It got the job done while being visually pleasing and doesn't need always a $200M budget and 500 artists to aim for TLOU part 2 fidelity.

I can throw the pokemon arceus graphics under the bus any day of the week, but there's a threshold in graphics I think where saying "Looks like *insert previous console generation*" doesn't really fucking matter. Peoples act like modern graphics blow the old generations away, really? I don't think so. You can pull a ton of decade old games and they would still look phenomenal today with the resolution uptick. You can pull screenshots from Uncharted 3 today and it would challenge a lot of modern releases graphically.

Peoples were also calling Elden Ring ugly I recall many debates. Mind blowing stuffs.

Horizontal elevator.

Shhhh…. Let them have some fun. No facts please.

Can they at least bring back Mother Brain?
I actually believe they do! I think that is the secret. It is my belief the reason you only got Prime 1 Remaster is two fold. One, they didn't have enough time or resources to remake the trilogy. #2). I believe Nintendo is Retcon'ing MP2& MP3. And MP4 is a direct sequel to MP1.

I do believe they bring back Ridley in full and Mother Brain!

The game is gonna kick ass no matter what the graphics are and the game will be remembered long after most other games that came out this year.

You can easily see the polygons in the hand and low res textures. Looks like the Switch 1 really held the Switch 2 version back.
