I don't understand how anyone can buy into the Sony hype before seeing some unscripted full game footage with AI and gameplay elements intact.
Give credit where credit is due; everything on X360 is much more palpable than PS3's hype at the moment.

the picture on the top left is probably the most photorealistic i've seen in a game. wow at the wall.Insertia said:
It's true that X360 stuff is much more palpable at the moment as the SYSTEM IS ACTUALLY AVAILABLE. The thing is, I'm not terribly impressed with what it has done so far. Many of PS3's actual realtime demos/games looked more impressive, detailed, and polished than what I've seen on 360 (and was shown at E3). Whether it all pans out in the end, I don't know, but I'm holding onto that hope simply because what they have shown is what I'd like to see.CharlieDigital said:Come on, let's not forget that the MGS3 cut-scene models were no where near the in game models in poly count and details.

I think Heavenly Sword is closer to what we should expect from typical PS3 developers.

:lol You probably start out as Raiden, then after the first mission you switch to Snake.SolidSnakex said:Heh you've gotta wonder if Kojima's stance on Raiden being playable is going to change before the games release. Within a day of that trailer being released he's went from most wanting not to play as him to almost everyone wanting him to be playable at some point in the game.

I can't believe Lost Planet is being compared to MGS4.
That's like someone analyzing literary style in Da Vinci Code and saying its roughly equivalent to the Scarlet Letter.

right after that shot, when raidens coat is ont he metal gears camera can you make a gif of that? the self shadowing was insane on the coat.EviLore said:Hey, folks, how about I bring out my dormant E3-fueled aggression? It'll be fun. Just avoid the disintegration rays coming out of my eyes.

Wow, I thought I was only one who noticed that. The thing with MGS is they model their charactersd after real actors/people so they have distinguishing features.gutter_trash said:Art direction goes a long way and counts for a lot.

MGS4's character designs stand out alot. They are realistic and in the same time unique,, look all the faces of the MGS4 cast in the trailer,, every character is distinguishbly different and realistic in the same time and it works well
then look at Tom CLancy games,, were every bady and goody look a like and you don't give a crap who you are talking too because everyone is the same

And no, Lost planet doesn't look better than MGS4. The most bizarre insult is "At least Lost Planet is a game!". What the fuck? MGS4 is extremely early in production. It was never supposed to be shown at TGS. This was it's premiere. It's a year behind, give it time. Nobody was playing Gears of War either at this time in it's production. They're still working on the gameplay system, the game is looking amazing, and Kojima says he's not happy with the visuals yet. Give the team time to set that in stone, do what he wants with the graphics, fix the slowdown and then let's judge.
Just imagine if we all judged Gears of War during it's very first clips. They had some massive slowdown going on. They fixed it though, added some damn good animation to the game, and it's looking great.
If you honestly can't find anything good to look at in the MGS4 trailer, then find, but don't start giving these lame comments on it not being a game yet. Of course it's not, it's in development. Everything about it sounds incredible though, and I'm willing to give Kojima the benefit of the doubt that it will be awesome in-game like the rest of the series.
