MGS4 LE Bundle - 40GB/$600/includes LE game/sold @ konami.com

I think you can cancel up until they start readying it to be shipped. It says it ships within 1-2 days of release but I would be careful they might start packaging before the 12th. If you were to cancel I would do it a week or so before the 12th.

If anybody still wants one, go now, I just got one.

The more I thought about it today, the better of a deal (for me personally) it seemed. If I were to buy the 80GB bundle, with tax it would have been $545, then with the $85 LE game that would have brought my grand total to $625. With the 3-5 day shipping for the LE console, my total was $620. I don't care a whole lot about BC since I'll be playing my old SD games on my SDTV, and for me personally I don't think the limited memory will be causing much of a problem. I don't do a whole lot online, I'll mainly need it for mandatory installs for games and storing save data.

So for me, it works out pretty well I think. I can completely understand how other people would not want it though.
 
this not limited or something? Its up for sale again when I just randomly checked. I don't want it if its not as rare as they say...

They're allowing a few pre orders every day for a certain amount of time. I guess they're doing it this way so it gives people a better shot that want it instead of those that are online right when they put it up the first day.

hm, i thought that ended last week. even still, there was no lag whatsoever for me when i checked. that means that either they fixed their bandwidth issues, or the demand is gone.

thats good for the buyers, bad for collectors. well, kind of =/

Been following the thread here about the LE MGS4 PS3 bundle at Konami.com, saw some confusion, and just got approval to clear some stuff up...

First, there seems to be some speculation as to how limited this limited edition MGS4/PS3 bundle is. I can't divulge exact stock numbers, but I can verify that quantities are in the four digits, which means less than 10k (its actually a bit less than that, even). Once that's gone, its gone. Seriously, we don't have any more than that.

Second, some seem to think that the Gun Metal Gray is just a "paint job", which it is not. It is a different material, which has more of a "matte" finish and feel as opposed to the standard "glossy" one.

Also, the bundle comes with a DualShock3 controller which also is Gun Metal Gray like the console, as opposed to the standard controller, and is of course limited like the bundle is.

The bundle does indeed come with the limited edition version of the MGS4 game (which has the extra disc of documentaries, the soundtrack, etc), which is only otherwise available exclusively through GameStop, and if you have not pre-ordered it yet, you will probably have a tough time getting one of these (except through this bundle), as it is truly limited as well.

We also know some were confused as to how the stock was available and then sold out on a daily basis. The reason for this was to "pace" the availability for a number of reasons, which seems to be good for those who might not have been able at that exact moment the stock was available on the first day, so more people get a chance to order one. We have been able to increase the daily availability now as well, which should help those trying to get one.

Last, yes, that first day we got an enormous traffic hit that took the servers down. Since, a lot more server power and bandwidth has been applied, and there shouldn't be any more issues there. Also, yes, that first day there was an operational error that caused for a $500 refundable insurance charge on top of the regular price + tax, which has since been resolved. We would like to offer a sincere apology to those who were inconvenienced, and if you are having any problems please let us know!

To our Canadian customers: stock is not yet available, but we are expecting it to go live in the next couple of days, there are just some additional operational steps we have to take for your orders. Part of the operational steps we're working on are the fastest possible shipping methods of this item to you, as we fully understand you want this as soon as your USA counterparts. Due to our method of releasing stock in limited quantities, you will have an opportunity to order. We thank you for your patience on this!

If you have any other questions, please let me know, and I will do my best to get them answered!

I requested the 12th and 13th off from work.... Thinking about requesting the 16th too!

I can't wait... I don't mind waiting for the bundle as I'll already have the game and have a 60GB too.

I finally got one ordered. I can't decide if I'm happier that I'm going to have a PS3 or that it actually took the order after a thousand tries. They say money can't buy happiness, but I'm hoping that's a lie. :lol

Canadian orders now open. The cost of shipping is $140 – don't freak out! Judging from the disclaimer before you submit your order it seems $140 would include shipping, brokerage, and also taxes. By my calculation it's actually very reasonable.

I take extreme care of my equipment, so, I'm really not worried.

I've got no plans to sell mine, but I won't be opening it. Maybe it's the anal retentive collector in me, but I'm going to be keeping mine under wraps for some time. Probably forever.
 
It's limited enough that Gamestop won't take a damn preorder on it.

I am for sure opening mine. I really just wanted it because of the matte finish, (and I love metal gear!!) but it's definitely getting opening the moment it shows up on my doorstep!

I suggest calling the store you plan to get from from at least a couple days in advance. If they're doing a midnight, get there early cause they are selling them then. If they aren't you had better be there in the morning before open.

I'm gonna go at 8 but that gamestop is run by baffoons I might drive 15 minutes further for an actual one.

If you can't get one at the GameStop, I do know Toys R Us was doing preorders. Best Buy, Circuit City are supposed to get them in as well. My friend who works at Best Buy doesn't know how many they're getting yet, but I would suspect they do get the most.
 
Seems like Canadian preorders are finally UP!!

Hm, my hype for this seems to have died down quite a bit though since it does not seem like supply is running out. :/
I will wait it out a bit to make my final decision (already own a 60GB PS3 here).
