The movie is just titled Ninja Turtles now? hmm

Not a big deal IMO. Kinda inevitable with the recent string of successful franchises
that have been resurrected re: Dark Knight, Transformers, etc. Short and sweet is easier to market. You didn't really think they'd call it Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, did you?

Yeah, the Ninja Turtles as name only had been used before.

With that said the origin still irks me.

This is the first time I've seen this is coming, and I am saddened by everything I've heard: Bay, the origin story, Laird's comments, etc. But you can be certain that it will fill enough seats to be deemed a success though, so as many GAFers are fond of saying... "just turn off your brain and watch it". Unfortunately for me, I've never been able to find my brain's off switch.

Surely fake, but supposed concept art. Please be fake...

No way that's from the movie. It was given to some rapper as a gift. Probably just some custom work.

That is mentioned in the article I linked to, supposedly that rapper is working on the music for the movie. From his twitter:

Kid Cudi Twitter said:
"To everyone with doubts & concerns about the new TMNT reboot, trust me, there is NOTHING to worry about. Trust. Everyone will be pleased!"

His tweet doesn't mean much. He's friends with Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, two of the Platinum Dunes producers. Like I said, it was probably just some custom work done for him. There's no way they're going to complete alienate the TMNT fanbase like that. It'd be suicide.

Gotcha. This wouldn't be that crazy if they're going to be aliens, though. I could see them wearing this on their home planet or something, then lose the army when they get to earth or some such shit.

Heh, you'd be surprised.

Was this posted yet? An interview with Laird on the upcoming TMNT movie-

Words cant express how awesome you sharing this through NeoGaf is for me. I'd probably have never read this otherwise and being a huge TMNT fan I find this fascinating. I never cared for Venus but learning about the pride he takes in the 2003 series - which I never watched but truely need to after his and Gaf's liking - and how vital he found things like the turtles being an accident... Awesome read. Thanks.

I had Raphael at my 5th birthday party. Bed sheets, a chair, slippers, toys, I had it all. I saw the movies in theatres and even have a picture from their rock tour. Fast forward - I'm 24 now - to the anniversary and I've fell in love with the original comics in the collected format and even enjoy the new IDW retelling.

That sad, as much as I'd love a true turtles movie, I can't deny that I'll be there midnight with a bag full of foil-wrapped pizza just like I was for the CGI movie*. :\

Maybe I'll wait and sneak in. *shrug* I can't not see it, no matter how bad. >_<'

*Raph vs Leo aside, I hated the CGI movie. Cool style though.

Yep, definitely suggest watching 2003. It really made me <3 turtles much more.

Also that kissing gif is based from the designs there, considering that it was popular in Japan. :P

Maybe you've all heard of this, but a pretty awesome looking documentary that was being worked on about TMNT. I assume it's never going to be finished since the last update was from 2009. Theere is a trailer though, so you can be saddened that it was never finished.
