Michael Bay's TMNT are "from an alien race."

Wow...
You know, people give Turtles Forever shit for "misrepresenting" the 1987 TMNT and making them complete jokes. Yes it was exaggerated but you have to admit that series got way too silly. Personally I liked Turtles Forever.
But making them aliens? No. No no no. No. Hell no. This is worse than that.

One day, I will find the context of this gif

one day

Add an 'I' to that, and it sums up how most people will feel.
Yes, I mean TAINT in case you weren't sure.

^ Beat me by seconds!

haha crazy timing

I was kinda surprised the obvious joke wasn't made sooner in the thread

I think its Bay's goal to destroy every cartoon show from the 80's. First Tranformers and now TNMT. Whats next?
There have been persistent rumors that Hasbro has been interested in doing a live action movie of Jem and the Holograms. The idea that Bay wouldn't/couldn't turn that into an explosion laced, action movie is truly outrageous.

Aliens. Perfect for Michael Bay.
There are more theoretical explosion possibilities.

Unless they make mutagen explosive.

It was worse, actually.

The old cartoon was no masterpiece by any stretch, but I find it strange how a dinky low-budget kids show made to sell toys from 1984 somehow manages to be smarter and more coherent than a major big-budget motion picture from the year 2007.

Not to mention the the animated movie which blows Bay's garbage out of the water.

This is the day I realized my children will have a completely different understanding of the shit I grew up loving. And they'll think I'm a liar when I tell them about the original TMNT or Transformers.

I don't really mind the alien thing considering how often the TMNT deal with aliens

Though honestly I prefer the non-scifi TMNT stuff (which isn't a lot really)

imagine if he made them act like autobots...

I'm actually quite concerned.

April: You're from another planet? How'd you learn to speak English.
Splinter: While I have studied countless of your texts and documents, my sons preferred an alternative source.
[Cut to a pile of VHS copies of random surfer movies]
Michelangelo: Gnarly!

Which wouldn't be a bad way of explaining their use of outdated lingo, but I just know it's going to be handled with so much cynicism and mocking that it won't even be fun.

And April... God... She's doomed from the get-go. If Megan Fox and that girl from the third movie are anything to go on.... Ugh.

Same here.

That's why I liked the first turtles movie so much. It was just gritty, martial arts, and fun, no sci-fi required(beyond the obvious mutant turtle thing).

April is gonna turn out to be a teenage blogger or some shit. Alien turtles makes no sense though plus a alien rat.

Talk about missing the entire point of the stuff.

That is Wolverine Origins Deadpool levels of "WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY" =|

edit : but i have to say that it was partialy worth because of the reactions posted here =x

Ok i'm seeing things gaf

yY84hm.jpg

I see....

Technodrome all modernized invading earth , more specifically a city and there's like giant laser blasts coming out of it. Explosions.

Turtles are super muscley and stuff, only vaguely resembling turtles, and like Michelangelo is like the silly one and he acts too silly borderline offensive. Also explosions

April is played by a victoria's secret model in case they can't get the english chick from TF3 to dye her hair. She's the tough but adventurous reporter who's always getting a scoop and she runs through more than half the movie in a tanktop. She also leans over things a lot. And runs from explosions.

I see mostly a focus on Casey/April/US Military/Baxter Stockman/ any other human going to get more screen time. Plus they run from explosions

The fights are filled with wacky camera angles, I'm seeing them not so much fighting the foot as they're fighting mechanical beings from said Technodrome. Explosions.

Linkin Park soundtrack perhaps?

The first movie is a classic.

I really just want a series one day that keeps it gritty and street level without devolving in to scifi

I have no problem with April being a blogger. It would be a decent way to work in the reporter aspect. I would have a problem with her being another braindead sex object who spends half the movie grinding on inanimate objects and pouting her lips.

...why would he do this? Why change a fundamental premise of their very existence and plot point? Many struggles were waged over the "mutagen" and desire to use it for nefarious purposes.

i like michael bay when he isnt doing a project that involves things i care about

fuck up transformers, ill watch the world burn along side you michael, but not TMNT :'(

but it'll be space mutagen made from some alien scientists in spaaaaaaaaaace.

I think the alien angle will be that the mutagen will come from space or something. And to be honest, I have no problems with the change in the origin.

I really enjoyed that super gritty tmnt short movie that was released a while ago. The CGI was a bit lacking but it was a short movie, with limited budget.
