This virus causes cervical cancer, and only certain types of the virus causes certain types of the cancer in certain people. I'm not sure it can cause throat cancer, but since we have hundreds of millions of people running around with it...I guess we can find out.

I actually got the vaccine from my doctor. It is called Gardasil. You get the first shot, the second shot a month later, and the third shot four months after that. HPV is a complicated disease, though I believe the vaccine does prevent the strains the cause cancer.
